I was not only very happy to be a finalist in the Sunny Side Up Film Festival for my Western Feature Screenplay West Bound 18 Wheeler I was also very happy to attend the festival in person along with my wife Suzanne as well in Miami, Oklahoma. The Coleman Theater was an excellent and extremely beautiful and historic theater to hold the festival in, I was very impressed with the professionalism of Rock and Brenda they put on a class act festival the best that I have attended to date by far. The quality of the films and the professionalism and expertise of the film makers I guarantee you Hollywood has nothing on these indie film makers period. I was very surprised my screenplay West Bound 18 Wheeler was announced as 1st place for Best Western Feature Screenplay that made my year, Sunny Side Up Film Festival also provided a great opportunity to network with other film makers which has already given me a few great locations to consider for my films as well as a ton of great actors to consider for my upcoming projects, again I want to thank Rock and Brenda Whitehead for making this great film festival possible.

  • While I was unable to attend this year's event, I hold a special fondness for the fest. This was the first in-theater screening for my short film, ZAP!

Communication with this festival is always prompt and efficient. They meet the deadlines they promise... and best yet, they create an environment in which a filmmaker feels welcome and part of their festival community.

Brenda and Rock are good folks and always pleasant!

Although I was unfortunately not able to attend, our two lead actors in CALF ROPE both reported back that they were treated like "Hollywood Royalty" by the co-founders, Rock and Brenda Whitehead at the Sunny Side Up Film Festival. Our two actors were also both in awe of the glorious Coleman Theatre as the venue for the festival, a magnificent classic movie house that seats well over 1,000 added another memorable layer of class and elegance to the entire festival. From a distance, I greatly appreciated the speedy and thorough communication provided by the Whitehead's as well, both through email and social media postings that were always timely and accurate. Thank you, Rock & Brenda, for all that you do for indie filmmakers around the world through your well-organized and generous Sunny Side Up Film Festival! ~ Bradley Hawkins | Director, CALF ROPE
