The Mission of the San Francisco Social and Economic Justice Film Festival is to provide a platform for films made by independent filmmakers who are exploring and advocating for social and economic justice. The SEJ film festival will highlight films and videos to encourage change around the world and to promote a global culture of equality. The 2026 priority; films that focus on labor unions and on building the labor movement.

Rules & Terms

Entrants must fully comply with these Entry Rules and Regulations, including all deadline,film length,entry material and other requirements.
Non-English language works must have English subtitles at the time submitted. Dialogue lists will not be accepted.
Please be aware that in all categories, premieres are preferred.

    The fifth annual: "Social and Economic Justice Film Festival" was a great event for a great cause showcasing the work of many very talented film makers centered on its collaborative theme. I was very impressed with the creativity and presentation of each film. Each one I saw in this year's collection had an impact on me and created a greater awareness of the issues we face, and the opportunities we have, for social and economic justice to exist.

    I was very proud to have our video included alongside the work of such talented filmmakers, and I wish all of you continued success.
