Josh Sinbad Collins is responsible for a multitude of cinematic events and four fantasy movies with an edgy rock and roll over-the-top camp aesthetic. Fun and shock value team up with a love of vintage mondo cinema and exploitation classics to provide fertile material for Collins’ imagination.
Josh is currently residing in Melbourne Australia where he produced ‘Wolf Cat Fever’ and the queer, trash, adventure ‘Fags in the Fast Lane’. Previous steam punk epics, ‘Pervirella’ and ‘Perv Parlor’ were made in London where his creative studio and pop-up parties were one of the pivotal art hubs of the nineties. He collaborated with acts as diverse as Leigh Bowery, Jonathon Ross, Billy Childish, Kitten Natividad and The Cramps.
His films transport you to a lush eye-popping fantasy world, complete with an amazing attention to detail. Homemade sound effects, grotesque puppetry, gorgeous graphics, unbridled entertainment and sumptuously themed sets fly you to a wondrous place.
Josh’s movies are more akin to taking part in a crazy party, or a live event where you meet extreme characters, and participate in revelry that might bring a blush to your cheek the next day!
Josh has also added his inimitable art direction and production design to Armstrong Pictures ‘Nova Star’ and Penny Moore’s ‘Trust Frank’.
He is an extremely hard working and passionate creator, often working hand in hand with his wife costume designer Babzotica to bring their audience to another level of glitz, glamour and debauchery. In Melbourne the couple created and operate ‘The Luwow’ tiki bar and have a strong history in cabaret and rock and roll shows with well over 2000 live productions under their collective belt.
Future projects include ‘One Night at the Cock-a Cabana’ -A Mambo Mystery and
‘Skionara’ a Japanese Yokai ski horror-comedy.
