Director Biography - Josh Sinbad Collins

Josh Sinbad Collins is a production designer, entertainer and imagineer responsible for a multitude of cinematic events. He has made four fantasy movies, with an edgy rock and roll over-the-top camp aesthetic. Fun and shock value team up with a love of vintage mondo cinema and exploitation classics to provide fertile material for Josh’s imagination.
“The Lobotomised Tim Burton” – Alternative Cinema
Josh and Babzotica his wife, costume designer and eternal collaborator, currently reside in Melbourne, Australia, where they produced ‘Wolf Cat Fever’ and the queer, trash, adventure ‘The Cockslinger (aka-Fags in the Fast Lane). Previous steam punk epics, ‘Pervirella’ (recently remastered as Pervirella Deluxe) and ‘Perv Parlor’ were made in London where their creative studio and pop-up parties were one of the pivotal art hubs of the nineties. Working with acts as diverse as Leigh Bowery, Jonathon Ross, Billy Childish, Kitten Natividad and The Cramps.
“Total chaos from Australia”- Mike Guen Weekend of Fear
Zombie Zoo Production films transport you to lush eye-popping fantasy worlds, complete with amazing attention to detail. Homemade sound effects, grotesque puppetry, gorgeous graphics, unbridled entertainment and sumptuously themed sets transport the viewer to a wondrous place. Their movies are full of the energy of a crazy party, or a live event packed with extreme characters and revelry that might bring a blush to your cheek the next day!
“Barbarella as shot by Terry Gilliam” – SFX (Pervirella Deluxe)
Josh has also added his inimitable art direction and production design to Armstrong Pictures ‘Nova Star’, Penny Moore’s ‘Trust Frank’ as well as many music videos and themed bars.
“Makes Ed Wood seem pedestrian” - Melody Maker (The Perv Parlor)
The couple are extremely hard working and passionate creators, working to bring their audience to another level of glitz, glamour and debauchery. In Melbourne they created and operate ‘The Luwow’ tiki bar and have a strong history in cabaret and rock and roll shows with well over 2000 live productions under their collective belt. They also run ‘The Wild Weekend’ Rock and Roll vacation in Mallorca and created the ‘Las Vegas Grind’ in Vegas.
“A Neo revolutionary filmmaker”- The New York Times (Fags in the fast lane)
Future projects include The Mambo Maniac (‘One Night at the Cock-a-Cabana’) - A Latino drag king ‘Mambo Mystery’ and
‘Ski-onara’ a Japanese Yokai ski horror-comedy.
"Harry Hausen with the epic scope of Dino D Laurentis tied to a sleezoid Mondo a GoGo aesthetic that would make Russ Meyer proud." – Bizarre Magazine

Shorts: The Nude Mummies, Hot Carumba, The Frat Shack TV Special 1-5.

Director Statement

Wolf Cat Fever is a bad taste rock and roll fantasy full of cool characters in a completely insane hyper-real world. Energy, fun, colour, stupidity, loud rock and roll, sexy gender bending craziness, what’s not to like! Two lost souls meet, run riot and find hot fevered love on the way! Grrrrrrrrrr!
“Fighting normality and banality at every turn!”- Wolfy Howl
Zombie Zoo Productions are cultural magpies creating our own fantasy worlds from myriad influences, paying homage to our favourite films, graphic novels and tv shows. But beware, amongst the comic book frivolity lurks cutting social and political commentary.
Forged in a highly original style involving lavish sets by Josh ‘Sinbad’ Collins and glamorous costumes by Babzotica as well as stop motion, extensive miniature models, cartoons and epic image compositing. ZZP uses whatever it takes to tell the story to best advantage and take the viewer on an amazing journey they certainly won’t forget, tongue-in-cheek, devil-may-care filmmaking.
Wolf Cat Fever started as a script written by Josh ‘Sinbad’ Collins during the Melbourne lockdown. The script came runner up in AACTA’s pitch competition “Bite” in 2021 out of a field of over 250 scripts and 4 rounds.
Wolf Cat fever is a diamond in the trash, I mean it’s literally made of trash!
On our limited budget, Zombie Zoo Productions achieved maximum results as fast as possible, shooting 3-4 scenes a day and building 12 sets a week. All sets and costumes are made in house from recycled, found, salvaged, second hand, borrowed materials. Don’t let this fool you though, Wolf Cat Fever is a meticulously crafted, unique movie. The audience gets swept along an insane creative journey, regardless of seeing the glue, the screws, the junk, the sweat, the hairspray.
Cinematographer Alexander Orlando Smith (music videos for Kylie, The Darkness, Peaches and Iggy Pop) helped create the lush heavily colored scenes using vintage techniques and salvaged lighting equipment. The film was shot on a retro fitted Alexa camera at 25FPS, using highly engineered vintage lenses, endowing the project with a real cinematic feel very based on Italian cinematographer/director Mario Bava’s work.
Influenced by Melvin Frank’s 1959’s “Lil Abner” which successfully blended comic book stage sets with the real world, achieving a fun cartoonish musical and Steven Sayadian’s 1986 punk porno reinterpretation of “Dr Caligari” really led the way with minimal abstract sets and super stylish lighting.
No endless CGI or AI here! Wolf Cat Fever is filled with the excitement and wonder of early cinema’s simple illusions, that still work today, joyfully bedazzling the film audience.
Wolf Cat Fever was cast and crewed with an outrageous mixed bunch of theatre actors, cabaret stars, dominatrixes, drag queens and kings, rock and roll musicians and other riffraff. Em Bleby (Furr Fever) and Finn Burgett (Wolfy Howl) are let loose in the star roles and ‘the new James Brown’ themselves, Les Greene (the voice of Little Richard in Lurman’s Elvis) stars as ‘The King’ a ghostly spirit in a magic guitar.
Wolf Cat Fever is touted to be the craziest most fun movie of 2026 appealing to rock and roll, anime and comic book fans worldwide.
‘Good taste is the enemy of Creativity’- Pablo Picasso
