OBJECTIVES

The general goal of the festival is to open a new horizon in the world of art and purposeful cinema, in addition to its ability to shed light through artistic production that is compatible with vital issues in the world today. As well as enhancing capabilities and building motivational and supportive capacities for art and innovation.

- Providing a meeting point for talented students, young artists and emerging filmmakers around the world to share their passion and knowledge related to filmmaking.

- Creating a positive trend towards purposeful art and the necessity of applying it in interpreting value and human phenomena.

- Identify the role of artistic and cinematic production in developing human knowledge and building civilization in the past and present.

- Representing artistic and creative capabilities in the field of arts and communication sciences.

- Empowering young talents to develop their abilities in the film industry and arts skills.

- Providing the appropriate conditions to encourage and guide young talents to produce their meaningful stories and films.

- Taking advantage of the potential of young talents in developing cognitive and artistic boundaries.

- Encouraging young artists and filmmakers and enabling them to achieve better quality for their films.

- Providing a new and reliable platform for young artists around the world to express their opinions and problems.

- Contributing to the implementation of authentic, purposeful art by introducing the most important issues in the world.

- An honorary award was allocated under the name “Gaza” for the best work in each category that addresses issues of right and wrong and what is happening in Gaza.

- The winner of the best work among all participants receives the gold award, which represents support for the production of a short film within international standards. (Special terms and conditions apply).

- All those who qualify for the final stage will receive certificates proving this.

- The first three winners in the categories of children, youth, students, and youth, in addition to the second and third winners in the filmmakers category, will receive in-kind technological prizes that are useful in developing their talent or specialty.

- The first place winner in the Filmmaker category will receive a cash prize of $1,000.

- The festival will screen all finalist films for each category at the closing ceremony.

- The festival will display a selection of semi-finalist films on its social media pages.

- All participants whose works are accepted for the first qualifiers will receive certificates of participation.

- Owners of businesses that are rejected from the beginning do not receive any documents confirming their participation.

Terms and Conditions:

- All types of films are accepted, including animated films and cartoons.

- The time limit for the film is no less than 45 and no more than 100 seconds, with a quality of no less than 1080p in mp4 format, including the mobile phone camera.

- Participation is open to all participants around the world.

- It is forbidden to dowry the film with any name or signature in order to preserve the transparency of the arbitration.

- All applicants must adhere to the age group rules approved by the festival administration and present identification documents to confirm their age when filling out the participation form.

- The festival gives priority to selecting films based mainly on cultural criteria, as films that tell about the structure of a human being and how he lives in an authentic system of values ​​and humanity will be given absolute priority.

- The participation form must be filled out and sent before midnight on May 31, 2024 via the festival’s official website, shortff.org, and the work must be named before it is uploaded according to the following formula: name_surname_filmname.mp4

- The owner of the film does not have the right to withdraw his nomination after the participation period closes.

- Upon registering his participation, the participant grants the festival administration the right to show his film at any time and place and to use clips from it for the purpose of promotion and advertising, while preserving the moral right of the employer.

- The festival administration reserves the right to withhold any award or rank if the participating works do not meet the required level.

Principles of business valuation:

All available means can be used to shoot film, from advanced, high-quality cameras to mobile phones, and technological means will not register any difference, and distinction will be based on two points:

- The meaning that the employer wants to say from it (the message, the meaning, the creativity, the clear idea, etc..)

- How to use the available artistic elements to tell that story or meaning (scenario, acting, sound, lighting, effects, etc.)

The general path of participation and arbitration:

- When the door for participation is closed, all participating works are subject to compliance with the conditions, and the accepted works move to the qualifiers.

- The works accepted in the qualifiers are subject to evaluation by the jury, and 36 works from each category are selected for the finals and display during the festival’s closing activities.

- Out of the 36 works in each category, the first winners are announced during the closing ceremony.

- The jury is composed of veteran individuals in the cultural and cinematic fields, and they do not know the names of the participants when evaluating the works.
