The International Short Film Festival of Salamina returns for its third edition, reaffirming its commitment to contemporary short-form storytelling and cinematic innovation.

Hosted by Salamina Theater, the festival creates a focused and dynamic platform where filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences meet to engage with bold ideas, emerging voices, and diverse perspectives from Greece and around the world.

More than a screening event, the festival functions as a curated space for dialogue and exchange. Through selected film programs, discussions, and professional encounters, it fosters meaningful connections and encourages creative growth within the short film community.

Set on the island of Salamina, the festival offers a distinctive cinematic experience—intimate yet international in scope—where films are not merely presented but experienced collectively.

The International Short Film Festival of Salamina invites filmmakers and audiences alike to participate in four days dedicated to the power of short cinema.

Awards & Prizes

On the last day of screenings, three directing awards will be presented to the films selected by a jury of notable Greek creators.

Rules & Terms

International Short Film Festival of Salamina

Eligibility
Films submitted must have been completed within the last three years prior to the current festival edition.

Duration
The maximum running time is 30 minutes, including end credits.

Language & Subtitles
All films must include English subtitles

Submission Materials
Each submission must include:
– Official film poster
– Three (3) high-resolution stills
– Director’s photo
– Short synopsis (max. 300 words)
– Full cast and crew list
– Short director biography
– Digital screening copy in Full HD or 4K format

Submission Deadline
All submissions must be completed by the official deadline announced on the festival website.

Screening Rights
By submitting a film, the applicant confirms that they hold all necessary rights for public screening and that the festival is granted the right to screen the film during the official festival dates without additional screening fees.

Copyright & Liability
The festival is not responsible for any copyright infringements. Responsibility for music, images, and all third-party rights lies solely with the submitting party.

Selection Process
All films are viewed and evaluated by a selection committee appointed by the festival. The committee’s decisions are final.

Award Decisions
Award decisions are made by the official jury. The jury’s decision is final and non-negotiable.

Promotional Use
The festival reserves the right to use excerpts (up to 60 seconds), still images, and promotional materials for publicity and marketing purposes.

Data Protection
Personal data submitted to the festival will be used exclusively for festival-related communication and will not be shared with third parties.

Acceptance of Regulations
Submission of a film implies full acceptance of all festival rules and regulations.
