§ 1. Organizer
The organizer of the 1st International “SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY FILM FESTIVAL” (hereinafter: the Festival) is PB TEAM Sp. z o.o., Podole 60, 30-394 Kraków, NIP PL: 6762484488.
§ 2. Purpose of the Festival
The purpose of the Festival is to contribute to the development of cinematic art engaged in discussions on technology, innovations, and their impact on contemporary society. The Festival promotes films that examine both the positive and negative aspects of technological advancement in various fields of life. The films presented at the Festival will analyze how modern technologies shape our surroundings, way of life, and the challenges posed by their dynamic development.
§ 3. Nature of the Festival
The Festival is international in nature and is open to submissions from all over the world, including broadcasters, producers, filmmakers, film students, researchers, scientific organizations, non-governmental organizations, public organizations, and online channels. We invite you to submit your film during the period when the Festival is open for submissions.
§ 4. Submission Criteria
Submissions must focus on scientific topics and new technologies. Films in the science fiction genre are welcome, as well as those that are educational, inspiring, or instructive.
Since this is the first edition of the Festival, films completed after 2022 will be accepted.
§ 5. Film Length
Feature Documentary – 60 minutes or more
Short Documentary – up to 30 minutes
Narrative Films – without time limits
Reportage – up to 30 minutes
Animated Films – up to 30 minutes
§ 6. Submission Fees and Screening Rights
There are no fees for submitting films to the Festival.
The Festival does not pay for the rights to screen films, as all screenings are free of charge for the audience.
The Festival invests in Polish subtitles, so it is mandatory to submit a file with English subtitles.
§ 7. Festival Program
The Festival program includes the following competitions:
Main competition for the Grand Prix Award (Grand Prix)
Feature Documentary competition
Short Documentary competition
Narrative Film competition
Animated Film competition (Animation & Narrative Films)
Reportage competition
Best Polish Film competition (Polish Film)
The Festival program may change for organizational reasons.
§ 8. Film Selection
Films are qualified for the appropriate competition categories by the Selection Committee from the films submitted to the Festival.
The decision of the committee is final and does not require justification.
After the announcement of the "Official Selection," the films will participate in the festival competition. A winner will be chosen from each category.
The Grand Prix will be awarded to the best film from all the films participating in the competition.
It may happen that one creator receives an award in their category as well as the main prize.
§ 9. Submission and Delivery of Films
Competition films must be delivered to the Festival organizers within the deadline specified by the organizers.
Films must be submitted through the FilmFreeway portal.
The competition film copies must be in an exhibition format (MP4, MKV, or MOV) – DTP packages are not accepted.
Films for screening must be submitted via WeTransfer, Dropbox, Vimeo (with download option), FTP Server, or another secure file-sharing service.
It is possible for one submitter to submit multiple films to the Festival.
§ 10. Submission Deadline
The submission deadline will be announced on the official Festival website.
Submissions sent after the deadline will not be considered.
§ 11. Technical Requirements
All films must be submitted in MP4, MKV, or MOV format in HD quality (1920x1080).
Films must include English subtitles.
Films must be submitted via secure file-sharing services such as WeTransfer, Dropbox, Vimeo, or FTP.
§ 12. Sending Documents
Any statements and documents mentioned in these Regulations must be sent electronically to: office@sciencefilmfestival.pl or by post to the address of the Organizer's office.
§ 13. Awards
An award will be given in each competition category.
The Grand Prix Award will be given to the best film from all the films participating in the Festival. The awards may be in the form of trophies, diplomas, cash prizes, or other prizes at the discretion of the organizers.
§ 14. Copyright
The participant ensures that the submitted film does not infringe the copyright of third parties.
The Festival organizers are not responsible for any claims related to copyright violations.
§ 15. Final Provisions
The Festival organizers reserve the right to change the Festival dates, program, and regulations in the event of force majeure.
Any disputes will be resolved by the Festival Organizer.
These Regulations are provided in both Polish and English. In case of doubts regarding the interpretation of the Regulations, the Polish version shall prevail.
§ 16. Promotional Materials
The submitter must provide the organizers with a 30-second clip of the film for use in trailers and promotional materials for the Festival, which will be published on social media and the organizer's website. Additionally, the submitter must provide 3 film stills for promotion and, if possible, a film poster.
