Ritu Rangam Film Festival is a homage to the cinematic vision of the Indian filmmaker Late Rituparno Ghosh. The festival strives to be a much-needed platform for indie filmmakers across the globe to showcase their creative pursuits to the group of serious cine-lovers.

RRFF also provides a forum where filmmakers can be recognized for their contributions, have open audience discussions about their films, and connect with local industry professionals. RRFF screens films by filmmakers of all genders, races, and backgrounds every year. Every filmmaker is welcomed and encouraged to submit their films to this film festival.

Rules & Terms

* The 9th edition of Ritu Rangam International Film Festival 2026 is going to be competitive (National & International Films).
* The festival will be held on 28th to 30th August,2026 at Barasat,Kolkata
* Submission starts from 11.11.2025

* Every filmmakers of officially selected films will get certificate from RRFF 2026.
* The filmmakers who are willing to submit their films are requested to submit downloadable link of full film, trailers, posters, synopsis, director's id proof & contact details to us through email.
* If your film will be selected to screen at our festival, we'll send you a confirmation email.

YOU NEED TO REMEMBER
* Maximum duration for short films: 45 minutes.
*A filmmaker can submit multiple films.
* The films which were already screened at previous years of our festival, will be refused.
* Decision made by festival committee will be final.
* Festival authority doesn't take the responsibility of copyrighted items.
* Ritu Rangam reserves the right to accept or reject any entries without assigning any reason.

    Firstly I am always thankful to RRIFF 2025 for selecting and hosting our film. I believe that the big screen is the greatest reward a film can get, so RRIFF gets full credit for that. The enthusiasm and energy of the festival organisers were quite captivating.

    However, I believe that the festival would do better if the organisers paid more attention and gave greater care to the technicalities of screening a film. I say this because there were numerous glitches in screening multiple films in the festival, including mine, which should be kept to a bare minimum in future editons of the festival. This awareness would, I believe, benefit the organisers in making RRIFF an even better and more improved platform for amateur and professional film-makers alike for presenting their work.
