Redwood Film Festival is a film competition, explicitly designed for the filmmaker who’s tired of being overlooked by all the other festivals that seem to cater only to big-budget productions. Every artist hopes to one day emerge from the underground scene and share their talents with the masses. Hopefully, the showcase platform we provide will help facilitate that dream. We’re excited to display a wide range of works from all genres that will have industry pros, filmmakers and filmgoers buzzing.

SELECTION PROCESS
Every Season our film selection members select the best films. All selected films consider as official selection entries out of official selection entries our jury will choose the best movies through private screening recognize as the winner of the season.

Rules & Terms

1. Submission will be accepted through online submission platform “ FilmFreeway”

​2. Our jury screens the seasonal competition selections PRIVATELY (meaning: it's not a public screening!) and from there we select the winners. The winning films will get a chance to participate in a second selection at the end of the year. If they pass the second selection, we'll screen them at our annual Online Live Screening. Where one film from each category will be awarded.

3. All genre films will be accepted.

4. All films which are selected/nominated for the competition will be informed only by emails & listed on the festival web site.

​5. Each entry will be accompanied by non-refundable fees.

6. No inquiries or arguments will be entertained regarding non-selected films. The decision of festival selection committee will be final.

7. All non-English foreign language films /regional language Indian films must have English sub-titles.

    I rarely give a negative Festival review as I understand how much work goes into producing a successful festival. However, as a caution to potential filmmakers who are considering entering this festival, I feel it is my responsibility to provide my experience with this festival. My screenplay was "selected" for the Festival. I found this out via FilmFreeway. Redwood does not have a webpage and their Facebook page seems to be populated by people who have won an ward rather than Redwood Festival postings. There is no List of Winners that I can find and I never received any communication from the Festival. I have entered many many festivals and have only negatively reviewed two - this being the second. Very disappointing.

    My worst experience.
    Only a selection information. No date respected. We are still waiting for the palamares, which was due on September 12. The festival website doesn't work and the latest Facebook postings date back to 2022. It's unacceptable that people should dare to hold directors in such contempt. It's very difficult to produce and direct independent films !!!! Festival to be avoided absolutely.
