Welcome to the 10th edition of the Realtime International Film Festival (RTF).

Established in 2016, our vision is "to establish a genuinely international, all-encompassing, future-oriented, technologically mindful, and remotely accessible film festival." Our core values are Inclusiveness, Collaboration, and Equity (ICE).

Our corporate vision is "to become the most celebrated festival that promotes independent films, driven by technology, accessible remotely, with a strong focus on Cultural and Creative Arts."

We are nurturing the upcoming generation of filmmakers and believe we have permanently transformed the festival scene with numerous timely innovations and interventions.

Like the 2024 edition, the 2025 Edition of RTF will be a DESTINATION edition, featuring our signature Realtime 20-hour Filmmaking Challenge!

Our MISSION is to foster an Artistic baseline where equity and openness are promoted among Creative Artists, Filmmakers, & Film Enthusiasts; essentially, a platform "Where everyone feels equal."

'Our LANGUAGE is "ART", our MEDIUM is "TECHNOLOGY," and we celebrate the "HUMAN TALENTS" behind "ARTISTIC FILMS."

The Festival welcomes entries from filmmakers worldwide without discrimination and offers waivers for submission fees to filmmakers from countries facing payment restrictions due to imposed sanctions.

We honor the FILMS (particularly Artistic Films) and their CREATORS. We also highlight and showcase current TECHNOLOGIES impacting filmmaking.

Our aim is not to be the most glamorous Festival but to be "the most Accessible, All-inclusive, Innovative, Eco-friendly, and Technology-focused" Festival from Africa that draws global attention.

IMPORTANT NOTE (Before you submit)

1. As a festival, we are committed to screening selected films, but we DO NOT screen any movie outside the submission period for a given edition (year). Therefore, films submitted in a particular year will not be shown at our festival or any related event afterward unless they are specifically requested for a specially curated screening.

2. We frequently use clips, stills, and photographs from submitted films for festival-related "visuals" - including posters, banners, and electronic displays - all aimed at promoting and publicizing the festival. We utilize sequences extracted from submitted films, not exceeding 20 seconds in length, for promotional and publicity purposes. Additionally, we do not offer payment for film screenings and exclusively showcase films provided directly by the filmmakers.

RTF 2025 FESTIVAL REWARDS:

Please read carefully.

Presentation of Awards is based on Submissions in the relevant categories. Awards will NOT be presented in any category where submissions are not made appropriately before the last deadline.

Films submitted to the non-competitive categories are also not eligible for Awards. These submissions are made by filmmakers who wish to exhibit their films but are not interested in winning awards. The jury may decide, however, to reward an exceptional film submitted in this category. Still, it is entirely up to the jury, and subject to approval by the head of jury.

The Realtime Film making Challenge films are expected to be a minimum of five minutes long and must have a great story, beautiful Cinematography, Lighting, and Sound.
A selection of the best movies made during the 20-hour REALTIME FILMMAKING CHALLENGE is showcased exclusively during the closing ceremony each year.
