Regolamento/Rules
Art. 1 | La Fondazione Museo Civico di Rovereto nell'ambito delle sue molteplici attività culturali, organizza dal 1990, un festival documentaristico internazionale dedicato al patrimonio culturale, denominato RAM film festival. Rovereto, Archeologia, Memorie. Il Festival ha lo scopo di raggiungere e sensibilizzare il grande pubblico sui temi della ricerca archeologica, della tutela e valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale materiale e immateriale, della storia e delle tradizioni di popoli e culture. Il Festival ha la sua sede principale nella città di Rovereto (TN) e alcuni appuntamenti in località diverse.
Art. 1 | The Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation, within the framework of its institutional cultural activities, has been organizing since 1990 an international documentary film festival dedicated to cultural heritage, entitled RAM film festival - Rovereto, Archaeology, Memories. The Festival aims to promote public awareness of issues related to archaeological research, the protection, safeguarding and enhancement of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, as well as the history, traditions and cultures of peoples worldwide. The Festival is primarily held in the city of Rovereto (TN); additional screenings and related events may take place in other venues.
Art. 2 | Il RAM film festival ospita opere di ogni nazionalità ed è aperto a produttori, registi e autori che abbiano realizzato opere cinematografiche nel settore archeologico, storico, paletnologico, antropologico, e comunque aventi come scopo la tutela e la valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale materiale e immateriale. Sono ammessi documentari, docufiction, filmati full dome fino a 65 minuti di durata e corti di animazione fino a 30 minuti. Sono previste cinque sezioni del Festival, di cui una per i filmati fulldome.
Art. 2 | The RAM film festival welcomes works from all countries and is open to producers, directors and authors who have created films in the fields of archaeology, history, paleoethnology and anthropology, or, more broadly, works whose purpose is the safeguarding and promotion of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. Eligible submissions include documentaries, docu-fiction films and fulldome productions with a maximum running time of 65 minutes, as well as animated short films with a maximum running time of 30 minutes. The Festival is divided into five sections, one of which is dedicated to fulldome films.
Art. 3 | L’iscrizione dei film viene fatta attraverso la piattaforma FilmFreeway. L’iscrizione per la selezione nel main program comporta una entry fee di euro 7 (gratis per i progetti di studenti, per i corti animati e per il programma OFF full-dome e 360°) per le spese di segreteria, non rimborsabile. La Commissione di selezione del RAM film festival valuta tutte le opere iscritte e seleziona le produzioni ammesse in concorso al Festival.
In caso di pari qualità tecnica o interesse del tema, saranno privilegiate le opere in anteprima.
Terminate le valutazioni, la segreteria organizzativa ha cura di informare dell'esito tutti coloro che hanno partecipato alla selezione entro il giorno lunedì 15 giugno 2026.
Non viene richiesta alcuna altra fee per la partecipazione.
Art. 3 | Film submissions must be made through the FilmFreeway platform. Submission for selection in the main programme is subject to a non-refundable entry fee of €7, intended to cover administrative costs. The entry fee is waived for student projects, animated short films, and submissions to the OFF fulldome and 360° programme.The RAM film festival Selection Committee reviews all submitted works and selects the productions admitted to the Festival competition.
In the event of equal technical quality or thematic interest, priority shall be given to works presented as premieres. Upon completion of the selection process, the Festival Secretariat shall notify all applicants of the outcome no later than Monday, 15 June 2026.
No additional fees are required for participation.
Art. 4 | E’ previsto un premio per ogni sezione del festival, attribuito da giurie di esperti. Ogni anno viene attribuito anche il premio "RAM film festival" al film che ha ottenuto il maggior gradimento da parte del pubblico, cui viene chiesto di esprimersi attraverso un voto.
Art. 4 | Art. 4 | A prize shall be awarded for each section of the Festival by expert juries. Each year, the RAM film festival Award is also granted to the film that receives the highest level of audience appreciation, as determined through a public vote.
Art. 5 | A cadenza biennale (negli anni dispari) è previsto anche un premio in denaro di euro 3.000,00 denominato "Premio Paolo Orsi". Il premio Paolo Orsi viene assegnato all'opera della sezione "Cinema Archeologico" giudicata la più meritevole per le elevate qualità artistiche e scientifiche, da una Giuria Internazionale composta da personalità di chiara fama nel mondo archeologico, cinematografico e culturale. L'ammissione al premio Paolo Orsi è deliberata insindacabilmente dalla Commissione di selezione del Festival. La Commissione terrà conto in particolare della qualità artistica e scientifica dell'opera cinematografica e dell'aderenza alle finalità del Festival. Per il “Premio Paolo Orsi” sono ammesse esclusivamente opere realizzate nell’anno in corso o nei due anni precedenti.
Art. 5 | Every two years (in odd-numbered years), the Paolo Orsi Award (€3,000) is presented to the most deserving work in the “Cinema Archeologico” section, based on its outstanding artistic and scientific qualities. The award is decided by an International Jury composed of distinguished figures from the fields of archaeology, cinema, and culture.Eligibility for the Paolo Orsi Award is determined exclusively by the Festival Selection Committee, whose decisions are final. In evaluating submissions, the Committee will consider in particular the artistic and scientific quality of the work, as well as its alignment with the objectives of the Festival. Only works produced in the current year or in the two preceding years are eligible for the Paolo Orsi Award.
Art. 6 | Per la partecipazione effettiva al Festival, i film selezionati devono seguire le indicazioni elencate di seguito:
- rendere scaricabile il film da FilmFreeway o altra piattaforma o inviare copia digitale dell'opera a segreteria@ramfilmfestival.it. Il film deve essere in Full HD 1080p, 1920x1080 (.mp4, .m4v o .mov), con una dimensione massima di 10 giga.
- rendere disponibili per la promozione tre fotografie di buona qualità del film in formato .jpg o .png, possibilmente 300 dpi, e il trailer in formato .mp4 o .mov, max 10 GIGA, Full HD 1080p (1920x1080)
- le opere in lingua diversa dall'italiano dovranno essere accompagnate dai sottotitoli in .srt o .ass, o dalla trascrizione dei testi, completi di interviste, preferibilmente in italiano o in inglese e qualora non fosse possibile in tedesco, france se o spagnolo dei quali si effettua una traduzione italiana.
- ogni opera entrerà a far parte dell'archivio storico del Ram film festival.
- per le opere italiane si richiede se possibile un file di sottotitoli inglesi in .srt o .ass per la visione da parte delle giurie internazionali.
L’avvenuta selezione deve rimanere riservata (con embargo) fino a selezioni terminate e comunicate ufficialmente.
Art. 6 | For participation in the Festival, selected films must comply with the following requirements:
- Make the film available for download via FilmFreeway or another platform, or submit a digital copy to segreteria@ramfilmfestival.it The film must be in Full HD 1080p (1920×1080) format (.mp4, .m4v, or .mov), with a maximum file size of 10 GB.
- Provide three high-quality promotional stills in .jpg or .png format, preferably 300 dpi, and the trailer in .mp4 or .mov format, Full HD 1080p (1920×1080), maximum 10 GB.
- Works in a language other than Italian must be accompanied by subtitles in .srt or .ass format, or by a full transcript of the dialogue and interviews, preferably in Italian or English, or, if not possible, in German, French, or Spanish, which will be translated into Italian.
- Each work will become part of the RAM film festival Historical Archive.
- For Italian works, an English subtitle file in .srt or .ass format is requested, if possible, for viewing by the international jury.
The fact that a film has been selected must remain confidential (embargoed) until all selections are completed and officially announced.
Art. 7 | Testi, immagini e brevi sequenze dell'opera, non superiore ai due minuti, potranno essere utilizzate a fini promozionali del Festival, per il sito web, i canali social e per il programma cartaceo, oltre che dagli organi di informazione.
Art. 7 | Texts, images, and short clips from the film, up to two minutes in length, may be used for promotional purposes, including on the Festival website, social media channels, printed programs, and by the press.
Art. 8 | Nell’ambito delle proprie attività istituzionali, la Fondazione Museo Civico di Rovereto - RAM film festival garantisce un’ampia divulgazione delle opere ammesse al Festival e regolarmente catalogate nella propria banca dati, presso altri enti e istituzioni culturali. Sottoscrivendo il presente regolamento, i titolari dei diritti delle opere autorizzano la Fondazione Museo Civico di Rovereto - RAM film festival a utilizzare le opere stesse, a titolo gratuito e senza corresponsione di royalties, esclusivamente per finalità culturali, didattiche e di divulgazione, nell’ambito di iniziative promosse dalla Fondazione Museo Civico di Rovereto o realizzate con la sua collaborazione. Sono espressamente escluse manifestazioni o eventi di carattere commerciale dove sia previsto il pagamento di un biglietto d’ingresso. I titolari dei diritti delle opere saranno tempestivamente informati della selezione dalla Segreteria del Festival per confermare la volontà di partecipazione.
Art. 8 | As part of its institutional activities, the Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation - RAM film festival ensures wide dissemination of the works admitted to the Festival and duly catalogued in its database, at other cultural bodies and institutions. By signing these regulations, the rights holders of the works authorize the Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation – RAM Film Festival to use the works free of charge and without payment of royalties, exclusively for cultural, educational, and dissemination purposes, within initiatives promoted by the Rovereto Civic Museum Foundation or carried out in collaboration with it. Commercial events or activities requiring the sale of admission tickets are expressly excluded. The rights holders of the works will be promptly informed of the selection by the Festival Secretariat to confirm their consent.
Art. 9 | La partecipazione al RAM film festival comporta l'accettazione di tutte le norme contenute nel presente regolamento. I dati personali verranno trattati secondo quanto previsto dal Decreto Legge sulla Privacy del 30/06/2003 n.196 e successive modificazioni ed integrazioni.
Art. 9 | The participation in the Festival means the acceptance of these terms. Personal data will be treated according to the Italian laws for personal data protection (d. Lgs. 196/2003) and following additions.
