Queenie Zhang is a Chinese-Canadian who worked with children with special needs for six years before starting a new career in filmmaking. Growing up as an only child, she is the centre of attention and affection, but also of pressure and high expectation. Her parents urge her to get married and start a family, but she rebels. Her experience as a bicultural kids and her rejection of traditional gender norms inspire her to create stories about identities, generational trauma, and women.
