The First Annual Pride Aroostook Film Festival in Northern Maine is a celebration of diversity through film. Our festival showcases works from talented filmmakers with a focus on LGBTQ+ and other social justice issues. The majority of the films we show are from Maine filmmakers, highlighting the wealth of talent in our community. Join us in celebrating the power of film to inspire and bring people together.

Rules & Terms

We invite all filmmakers with short films of 60 minutes or less to submit their film through Filmfreeway.  We will consider every submission that highlights themes of social awareness.  Narrative, Documentary, music videos and experimental pieces are all welcome!

Precedence will be given to filmmakers residing in the Northeast that focus on LGBTQ+ issues, but the festival is still all inclusive and open to filmmakers nationwide.

1. Filmmaker and filming Location

2. Theme/Awareness Topic

3. Uniqueness of story and presentation 

4. Filmmaker’s background, Story, and Intent
