FOR FILMMAKERS, BY FILMMAKERS:

The Orange County Latino International Film Festival is the first International festival in the OC dedicated to showcasing humanity through the unique lens of the contemporary Latinx experience.

What does that mean, exactly? In short, it means that the Latino/x/e experience has grown to be so diverse and multicultural, that it is hard to fit into one specific category! We are a beautiful mix of countries and cultures that now co-exist in the international theatre, though we don't always experience the lift that our voices deserve as the ever-growing majority audience.

Latin Husband & Wife Filmmakers Allie and Adrian Quiñonez created this festival experience in hopes of showcasing positive expansion in Latinx representation in film and TV. As filmmakers ourselves, we learned early on that we need to create our own opportunities in order to promote, support and uplift our voices. Our mission is to nurture, grow and boost the emerging creative Latinx filmmakers who produce, direct and/or write their own films.

Hosted by Q Acting Studios in Costa Mesa, CA, our secondary mission is to provide a platform to showcase local talent in Orange County. The winning Screenplay submission will be performed and showcased as a staged reading with professional, working actors.

Thank you for your work! We look forward to seeing you at the festival!

A festival with a clear focus and with special attention to the performance of the cast of films. We had the joy of receiving six awards for the film Captain Wits (Capitão Astúcia), and I hope to be able to attend in person in the future. Long live Latin cinema!
