Oklahoma City University invites high school students to submit their best work in narrative, documentary, animation, or experimental filmmaking to our annual High School Film Festival. Selected films will be screened at the newly restored Rodeo Cinema in Oklahoma City. Jury prizes in cash and scholarships will be awarded.

Awards & Prizes

Top entries awarded up to $5,000/year scholarships to study film at Oklahoma City University. Additional $500 cash Jury Prize awarded to one filmmaker, courtesy of NGP.

Rules & Terms

Festival is open to all genres and modes of filmmaking including narrative, documentary, animation, and experimental. No entries longer than 10 minutes (including credits). All crew members must have been enrolled in 9-12 grade at the time of production. Filmmakers agree that Oklahoma City University may use stills or other material from selected entries for promotional purposes.

    This was my very first film festival, and the whole experience was cool! I was recommended by my film teacher to submit, and after I received the selected status on my film, they immediately reached out to me with information on the festival. They were very good at communication and giving me information on any questions that I had. Everyone there was so nice! I would highly recommend submitting!

    I had a great time working with this group. Proud to be among those selected. Having some more time to talk with fellow creators would have been nice, especially since they were unable to have showings in person this year. Other than that, it was fantastic.
