Welcome to the 3rd Annual Norwalk Film Festival! We are pleased to invite you to three days of diverse and inclusive entertainment, featuring inspirational screenings, insightful filmmaker Q&A’s, interactive workshops, and our "Standing Ovation Award" recipient (TBD).

Norwalk Film Festival was founded by a grassroots group of filmmakers, community cultural leaders, and movie lovers living and working in Norwalk. The theme, “Unity through Diversity through Film,” was chosen to celebrate and acknowledge the many walks of life, ethnicities, and backgrounds of Norwalk residents by providing a window into their lives and the issues they face. NFF supports the goal of Cultural Equity as a critical component to the long-term viability and growth of the Norwalk artistic community. The goal of the volunteer-based NFF committee is to bring local communities together and stimulate conversations generated by the films. The mission will be illuminated and magnified through the Festival’s films and filmmakers, attendees, and the recipient of our “Standing Ovation Award.”

The goal of the NFF is to bring together local communities and stimulate ongoing dialogues generated by the power of cinema.

  • It was such an honor to have my short film, "The Morning After" screen at the 2021 Norwalk Film Festival. Seeing my film in such a beautiful venue as the Wall Street Theater was such a real treat. Plus it was awesome that most of the films were screened twice so they could be seen by a wider audience over the course of the weekend.

The opening and closing receptions were exciting, engaging and even in the era of Covid, I still felt safe given the amount of care the festival team put into the weekend.

Definitely recommend folks enter their work into the Norwalk Film Festival! You won't be disappointed!

Really nicely run festival with lots of great films, and also a festival that really is about the filmmakers. The folks running this festival really are a great bunch of humans who really care. Excellent seminars, nice chances to network and socialize, and a festival that I can't wait to be part of again next year.

This was a great festival that emerged from the depths of the pandemic to showcase more than 50 films at live venues, many made by Norwalk and/or Connecticut-based filmmakers. There's a lot of talent in this area, so to be included in my hometown fest was indeed an honor. From the start, the all-volunteer leaders of the fest were supportive and engaging. They really set out to design a festival that showcased and reflected the unique place that Norwalk is: diverse, artistic, historic -- and they delivered.

We were so honored to screen our short film, The Art of Longing and Belonging at the Norwalk Film Festival this year! The panels were so wonderful and very well moderated, and the venues were all spectacular - the screenings were truly wonderful and everyone involved with programming was communicative and responsive. We look forward to attending again next year!
