General Rules

1. Eligibility: Open to all animated films using any technique - analogue, digital, mixed, though Ai must be specified - including hybrid productions combining animation with live-action.

2. Length: Short films must not exceed 30 minutes incl. credits

3. Completion Date: Films must no older than January 1, 2024

4. Genres and Categories: All genres are welcome. Each festivals curator and pre-selection jury has the right to select the films for specific categories according to genre, target group and/or geography, fx commissioned work, kids programmes, experimental categories, Nordic/Baltic progamme, student work etc. More information for each of the festival’s categories can be found through their home page.

5. Language Requirements and eligible countries: Non-English films must include English subtitles. The submission is open to international production but certain categories are limited to national or regional countries of origin according to the individual festivals

6. Submission Limits: Each film can only be submitted once

7. Copyright: Submitters must ensure all copyrighted material in the film is authorized and cleared.

8. Use of AI: Any AI use in the final production must be disclosed in submission details. The pre-selection has the right to question the filmmaker on the method and software of the Ai being used

9. Screening Formats: Preferred formats for screening purposes include DCP or ProRes; low-resolution copies are acceptable for selection.

10. Submission Process: Films must be submitted digitally, accompanied by the required materials, such as press kits or completed forms.

11. Selection and Notification: Festivals will inform selected films; decisions are final and feedback is not guaranteed. Filmmakers or distributors will get notice from each festival where they are selected with details and information for the screening

12. Screening Permissions: By submitting, filmmakers allow the festival to screen films as part of its program (physical, hybrid, and excerpts for promotional purposes).
