New York Jazz Film Festival, now in its fourth season, is the first film festival dedicated exclusively to jazz-centric cinema. The festival is held online via The BeBop Channel beboptv.com with an awards ceremony held in Harlem in August.

New York Jazz Film Festival provides a unique platform for jazz musician-actors, directors and writers pursuing content related to jazz, to have their work seen.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

NYJFF was developed by former Duke Ellington Orchestra and Art Blakey trombonist Gregory Charles Royal, while Artistic Director of American Youth Symphony, has been at the fore of a movement to integrate musicians into theatre, television and film
as actors.

MISSION AND OBJECTIVE

The festival, now conducted online, celebrates the selections with a reception-red carpet-award event in Harlem, a once historic and burgeoning jazz scene that has all but disappeared.

For this festival, we encourage jazz musicians and film makers with an interest in jazz to take a bold step by creating and submitting works to further expand the reach of this art form in 21st century media.
