Submissions for #NZWF22 are now open.

Since 2015 NZ Web Fest has curated and celebrated online entertainment. Since 2017 the festival has been a proud participant in the Web Series World Cup.

We accept submissions in open, international and New Zealand categories. NZ Web Fest also runs a Pitch competition open to international and NZ series projects.

In 2022 we're excited to expand with the addition of FIVE new submission categories for trailers and podcasts - which we expect to flow through to the creation of at least 10 new award categories.

In addition, we've increased the number of awards in the web series fiction categories to better reward the technical skills which make the shows so enjoyable.

#NZWF22 will present awards, information about which is noted in individual category listings. Some categories are open to NZ entries only, some to non-NZ entries only, and some to all-comers.

All award winners receive trophies, and our Pitch competition presents cash prizes.

I loved to take part of NZ Web Fest. Keith Barclay, the organizer, was really kind and all the participants who were on the same panel as me were very receptive and friendly. The system to watch all shows were really nice. As the festival was online and it was our first festival, the networking was a bit harder, but I really enjoyed participating. I hope someday I can be there in person.

Thanks, Mariana! We loved having you and Desnorteadas in the festival this year - and we hope you've had a good time at Rio Web Fest since visiting us.

Such a great event, and especially in a virtual year from a far-away place under isolation, Keith and Team hosted, for us, a successful and inclusive Festival. Panels, screening access and a cool and sweet Awards Ceremony! Love the presentation cards and announcing of nominees leading up to winners; made a gal watching at 2 am from NYC feel SO HONORED to be recognized! Thank You! Looking forward to another round!

Sorry about the late night, Caris!
We look forward to doing it all again in '22, and we hope to be able to run some sessions at times which are more user-friendly for people wherever they are :)

  • What a fantastic festival, one of New Zealand's greats. Was such an honour to have Rickety Banter apart of it, and be apart of the pitch competition. Really looking forward to next year.
