After a very successful inaugural year, NYU Los Angeles is pleased to announce the second year of the NYU LA PitchFest!

Are you a current senior or NYU Alumni with a feature screenplay or TV Pilot you’re just dying to get in the right hands? Well then, this opportunity may be perfect for you!

The NYU LA PitchFest is a unique chance to put yourself and your writing in front of agents, managers, producers, and executives.

The PitchFest is specifically designed to give writers in the NYU community a chance to gain real experience pitching their material to a handpicked group of industry insiders who are in a position to actually elevate careers. Last year’s industry insiders included representatives from Sony Animation, New Line Cinema, Amblin, and many more.

In signing up for this event, you will compete along with other writers in NYU’s expansive Alumni network to be selected to pitch your finished screenplays in person. There are limited spots for this event, so bring your A-game!

The 2025 PitchFest will consist of three parts:

⦿ DAY 1 (VIRTUAL): DATE TBD — Pitching Workshop with Crystal Boyd
Participate in an online pitching workshop taught by Crystal Boyd, multi-hyphenate TV creator/actor/writer, NYU LA professor, and CEO of How to Pitch TV (howtopitchtv.com).

⦿ DAY 2 (IN PERSON in Los Angeles): Friday, September 19th — Pitching Bootcamp
You will have the chance to practice your pitch, receive feedback from experienced writers and other professionals, and re-pitch after incorporating notes.

⦿ DAY 3 (IN PERSON in Los Angeles): Saturday, September 20th — PitchFest
This is where you will officially present your refined pitch to a curated group of industry professionals, including agents, manager, executives and producers.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: If you are selected, in-person participation in Los Angeles is MANDATORY for the 9/19 and 9/20 sessions. Not being able to attend the in-person portions of the PitchFest will be grounds for disqualification.

The 2025 PitchFest is open *ONLY* to New York University (NYU) Alumni and NYU Seniors who are currently unrepresented and who have never had their work professionally produced.

‼️ Participants can submit only ONE ENTRY OVERALL. So pick your best work. If you submit multiple entries, only the first one received will be considered and all others will be automatically disqualified.

Co-written projects are also eligible. If submitting a project with one or more co-writers, all writers must be included in the "Writing Credits" part of the submission.

⚠️ NOTE: If you applied to the 2024 PitchFest, you are welcome to resubmit either with the same script (with significant changes) or a different one.

Your required materials must be submitted as ONE single / merged PDF document in THIS EXACT ORDER:
