The Milwaukee Underground Film Festival is a vibrant, student-run film festival focused on celebrating experimental and artist-made cinema. For over 22 years, we’ve championed filmmakers who push boundaries and challenge norms, amplifying voices often unheard in mainstream spaces. Our festival believes in cinema's unique power as a communal art form, which generates creative and critical discourse and inspires open-mindedness through creativity.
We’re seeking daring, boundary-pushing films and videos that embrace the unexpected and challenge the familiar. Experimental, underground, artist-made, and unconventional. Bring us your vision! At the Milwaukee Underground Film Festival, we’re here to celebrate cinema as art, in all its bold, expressive, and thought-provoking forms.
The event takes place over three days, April 30–May 2 2026 in Milwaukee, WI.
