The SIXTH Annual Miami Underground Film Festival is coming to Miami in 2023! ☠️ Triumphantly returning to the Hard Rock Cafe in Bayside (Downtown Miami)!

Join us for an evening of South Florida's most eclectic and bizarre local shorts, docs, animation, and music videos, followed by the Circle-Jerk Awards ceremony. Food and full bar indoors available (must be 21 to drink.)

More details TBA

Unique prizes await you at the irreverent Circle-Jerk Awards.

☠️ ENTRY IS ONLY OPEN TO SOUTH FLORIDA FILMMAKERS. IF YOU AREN'T FROM SOUTH FLORIDA, DO NOT SUBMIT TO THE MUFF! ☠️

We accept narrative shorts, music videos, short documentaries, and animation. Keep 'em short, people are ADHD AF in Miami.

To reiterate: you must be from South Florida to submit. There are wonderful filmmakers all over the world, but The MUFF is *EXCLUSIVELY* a showcase for SoFla filmmakers. IF YOU ARE NOT FROM SOUTH FLORIDA, DO NOT SUBMIT. YOUR ENTRY WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY REJECTED. (It's nothing personal--unless you submit anyway after reading this; then you're absolutely a contrarian jerk who can't follow directions and we will justifiably mock you from within our judges' chambers. YOU know who you are. Seriously, knock it off!)

Submitters are encouraged to attend to receive their award.

  • This was a very fun festival to attend. I enjoyed seeing others peoples creative media as well as my own. There were however lots of technical difficulties. The sound would continually go out as well as the projector would stop working periodically. I felt that was very unprofessional. That is very surprising to see since this is their 5th annual event. At the end everyone who submitted won an award so that is always fun. Overall I did enjoy my time there.

  • Such a great film festival full of talented folks. The venue was awesome, the selected films were amazing, and the vibes were just right. Everyone was very supportive of one another and the circle jerk award ceremony was the best award ceremony I’ve been to yet! 10/10 would recommend!!

Not your ordinary festival! MUFF has a wide selection of works. The organizers do a great job to communicate and share information. Plus they made the screening really fun and enjoyable.
