Art. 1 – MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL
Nell’ambito del Programma Sensi Contemporanei CINEMA, è indetta la tredicesima edizione di “MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL”. L’evento, che avrà luogo a Matera e in Basilicata dal 24 al 26 novembre 2023, è organizzato in collaborazione con l’Uisp Unione Italiana Sport Pertutti Aps e aderisce al network dei festival lucani BasilicataCinema.
Art. 2 – FINALITA’
MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL intende favorire la conoscenza e la diffusione di opere a tema sportivo che, nei diversi linguaggi e nelle differenti forme produttive, concorrono allo sviluppo ed alla crescita delle tendenze artistiche e culturali. Scopo dell’iniziativa è quello di promuovere la qualità delle produzioni di opere sportive; di sollecitare i produttori alla diffusione dei valori universali dello sport; di favorire gli incontri e la collaborazione fra tutti coloro che compiono un lavoro creativo nel campo dello sport; di incoraggiare lo studio, la discussione e la conoscenza dei problemi culturali e creativi.
Art. 3 – CONTENUTI
MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL è aperto a tutte le produzioni cinematografiche, televisive e new (social) media ispirate allo sport o che abbiano, come argomento principale, lo sport nelle sue diverse espressioni. Non saranno accettate opere di contenuto pornografico, né opere ispirate a fanatismi di tipo politico, religioso o razziale.
Art. 4 – SEZIONI
Tutti i film, i video, i lavori televisivi, i cortometraggi e i lungometraggi sul tema sportivo e sulle sue differenti espressioni, prodotti nel periodo 2018-2023, potranno partecipare in una delle seguenti Sezioni competitive:
a. DOCUMENTARI: cronache e ricerche documentate, televisive o cinematografiche, riguardanti lo sport in tutte le sue forme, storie di campioni, squadre, eventi.
b. MOVIES: film, lungometraggi e cortometraggi, Tv-movie (realizzati da autori esordienti o già affermati) – ivi compresi i CARTONI ANIMATI – che abbiano come tema principale lo sport, l’avvenimento sportivo o la storia di campioni dello sport realmente esistiti o inventati. Per questa Sezione saranno premiati la miglior opera italiana e quella straniera.
c. TRASMISSIONI TV – NEW (SOCIAL) MEDIA – GAMING: rubriche, contenitori, talk-show, programmi di intrattenimento sportivo e new media (produzioni sportive, basate sulle tecnologie interattive e digitali utilizzate per la promozione della rete).
d. SPORT SOCIALE: lo sport e i suoi valori sociali. (SPORT & SOLIDARIETA’): gli interventi a favore dei valori sociali dello sport (etica, tolleranza, disabilità, fair-play, pace, ecc). (SPORT PER TUTTI, EDUCAZIONE, TECNICA-DIDATTICA): lo Sport come strumento informativo, educativo, formativo e di aggregazione sociale.
Art. 5 – RICONOSCIMENTI
Il Festival sarà competitivo. Le opere saranno valutate da una Giuria Internazionale (con esclusione di quanti abbiano interessi diretti o indiretti) composta da cinque personalità del Cinema, della TV, dei Media, dello Sport e della Cultura (nominata dall’Organizzazione del Festival) che assegnerà, a propria insindacabile scelta, i premi ufficiali. Per ciascuna delle Sezioni la Giuria assegnerà il Premio al Vincitore. Inoltre la Giuria attribuirà il Premio al vincitore assoluto di MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL. Le proiezioni avverranno nell’ordine e secondo i programmi stabiliti dalla Direzione del Festival. Nell’ambito del Festival sarà assegnato un Premio Speciale ad un personaggio dello Sport, della TV, del Cinema e del Giornalismo “che abbia svolto una significativa azione a favore dello sport attraverso la promozione dell’immagine e dei suoi valori culturali ed etici”.
Art. 6 – SELEZIONE DELLE OPERE
Per iscrivere una produzione a “MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL” è necessario eseguire entro e non oltre il 30 settembre 2023 (il numero delle opere per ciascun partecipante è illimitato) le seguenti indicazioni: inviare l’opera digitale, in formato HD a https://filmfreeway.com/MateraSportFilmFestival; tutte le opere in lingue diverse da Inglese e Italiano dovranno riportare i sottotitoli o essere commentate in una delle due lingue sopra citate.
Scheda di sintesi (sinossi) del video in italiano e in inglese;
Adeguata documentazione fotografica in formato digitale (jpeg ad alta risoluzione) di cui si intende autorizzata e gratuita la pubblicazione, da utilizzare per il Catalogo Ufficiale, per l’Ufficio Stampa, per il sito web e per la promozione del Festival;
Trailer di durata massima di 3 minuti, in formato HD, per l’utilizzo da parte dei media, per la premiazione;
Un’eventuale bio-filmografia del regista e/o dei protagonisti.
Tutte le opere “Selected” verranno proiettate durante il Festival, saranno parte integrante del Cartellone della manifestazione. La Giuria sceglierà tra le opere “Selected”, per ogni Sezione, un massimo di tre (3) “Nominations” tra le quali saranno scelte le opere da premiare.
Tutto il materiale suddetto dovrà pervenire entro e non oltre il 30 settembre 2023.
A ricezione del predetto materiale in formato digitale, la Segreteria del Festival invierà al titolare dell’opera partecipante un messaggio di conferma della registrazione al Festival, entro e non oltre 15 giorni dalla data di ricezione. In caso di mancata comunicazione, il titolare dell’opera potrà contattare per email la Segreteria del Festival (info@materasportfilmfestival.it) per verificare i motivi della mancata comunicazione.
Art. 7 – OPERE PARTECIPANTI
Le copie sono e saranno utilizzate dall’Organizzazione del Festival esclusivamente per fini culturali, senza alcun intento di lucro, le migliori sequenze potranno essere programmate dai mezzi di comunicazione a fini promozionali di “MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL”, prima, durante e dopo il Festival, anche in collaborazione con Enti pubblici, Media, Scuole, ecc. Al fine di una ulteriore promozione, le opere partecipanti potranno essere proiettate in occasione dei Festival Internazionali per le stesse finalità. L’utilizzazione prescinde da qualsiasi finalità commerciale. Non potranno essere diffusi per altri usi senza l’autorizzazione espressa del produttore. Chi presenta l’opera si dichiara titolare della stessa in ordine alle utilizzazioni previste dal presente Regolamento e deve compilare la Scheda d’Iscrizione online in tutte le sue parti in cui, accettando il Regolamento, autorizza:
a) la massima diffusione dell’opera (che si intende non sottomessa ad alcun diritto o ad altre indennità), facilitando il più possibile la messa a disposizione della stessa agli organismi che ne faranno richiesta.
b) la visione del video da parte dei delegati, giornalisti accreditati, osservatori, studiosi invitati dall’Organizzazione del Festival.
c) il deposito, nell’archivio dell’Organizzazione del Festival, delle copie presentate, destinate esclusivamente allo studio, alla documentazione ed all’attività istituzionale. Il produttore deve dichiarare di essere in regola con le norme che riguardano i diritti cine-televisivi: i partecipanti saranno direttamente responsabili di eventuali richieste o pretese di risarcimento per aver presentato l’opera al Festival. L’Organizzazione si riserva il diritto di usare i nomi dei partecipanti al Festival all’interno della propria attività promozionale.
Art. 8 – NORME GENERALI
Per gli autori ed i produttori delle opere selezionate sono previste particolari facilitazioni presso strutture alberghiere di Matera convenzionate con il Festival.

MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL
13th Edition

Art. 1 – MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL
The MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL has been organized in collaboration with the “Sensi
Contemporanei CINEMA” Programme and will be held in Matera from November 24 to 26, 2023.
The event is in partnership with the Uisp Unione Italiana Sport Pertutti Aps and in connection with the network “BasilicataCinema”.
Art. 2 – AIMS
The MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL aims at spreading the knowledge and diffusion of sport works that, in different languages and different production forms, contribute to the development of the artistic and cultural tendencies. The aims of this event are promoting the quality of sports works;
encouraging producers to broadcast the sport values; bringing about the meeting and co-operation of those who work creatively in sport broadcasting; spreading the study, discussion and knowledge of creative and cultural issues related to these media.
Art. 3 – CONTENTS
The MATERA SPORT FILM FESTIVAL is open to all television, movie and new (social) media
productions dealing with sport, or having sport in all its different expressions and manifestations as their main subject. Productions with pornographic contents will not be accepted, neither those works inspired by political, religious or racial fanaticisms.
Art. 4 – SECTIONS
All the movies, videos, TV shows, shorts and full-length productions about any kind of sport and its various expressions produced in the period 2018-2023 will be allowed to compete in one of the following Sections:
a. DOCUMENTARY: Documented television or cinema chronicles and researches, regarding sport in all its forms and expressions, stories about champions, teams, events.
b. MOVIES: Fiction shorts and full-length films, TV-movies, and TV serials made by debuting or well known authors having sport as their main theme, sports events or the story of sports champions. This also includes CARTOONS: (also in computer animated). For this Section, Italian and the foreign work will be awarded and it is necessary to send the artistic and technical cast information.
c. TV SHOWS –NEW (SOCIAL) MEDIA – GAMING: Sport Programs, Talk Shows, Entertaining, (productions dealing with sport, based on interactive and digital technologies).
d. SPORT & SOCIETY: sport and its values in the social field and in the formation process of the individual; intervention for the social values of sport (ethics, tolerance, disability, fair play, peace, etc). Sport as an informational, educational and didactical item, instrument of formation and social inclusion.
Art. 5 – AWARDS AND PRIZES
The Festival will be competitive. The works are judged by an International Jury (excluded who have direct or indirect interest) made of exponents of Movies, TV, Media, Sport, Culture (appointed by The Organizing Committee) that will award officially, without appeal, the official prizes. For each Area of the Sections will award the winner. The Festival management will establish the projection calendar. The Festival will deliver a “Special Award” to those exponents of Sport, TV, Movies and Journalism whom have carried on “a significant role in favour of sport by promoting its image and cultural and ethical values”.
Art. 6 –SELECTION OF WORKS
In order for a production to enter the Festival, it is necessary to send https://filmfreeway.com/MateraSportFilmFestival, within and no later than September 30 2023, the following items (the number of works for each participant being unlimited):
digital HD copy; works in other languages (English and Italian) must bear subtitles or be
commented in one of the above mentioned languages;
summary (brief synopsis) of the video in Italian and English;
adequate photographic documentation in digital format (high resolution) to be used for the Official Catalogue, the Press Office and the promotional campaign of the Festival;
digital HD copy of trailer of length of maximum 3 minutes in DVD edited separately from the main work, to be edit on the Festival website in the Section Trailer and in order to be projected on the televisions, during the Award Ceremony and open-close air projection on the maxi-screen;
Bio-filmography of the Director and/or the Actors.
All the “Selected” works will be projected during the Festival, and will take part of the Festival Program. The Jury will choose among the “Selected” works, per each Section, a maximum of three (3) works “Nomination”, among which will be choose the works to award. All the materials mentioned should send within and no later than September 30 2023.
Art. 7 – PARTICIPANT WORKS
The copies are and will be used by the Organizing Committee only for cultural, non-profit purposes and the best sequences may be broadcast by media as promotion before, during and after “Matera Sport Film Festival” also in collaboration with Public Institutions, Media, Schools, etc. Who presents a piece of work is considered the owner of the same in all respects for what concerns its utilization as from these Rules and must deliver the Entry Form duly signed, by which, accepting the Rules, he authorizes:
a) the widest broadcasting of the work (that is not subjected to any right or other indemnity) making it as easy as possible for the work to be put at the disposal of the institutions that may require it.
b) the vision of the video to delegates, credited journalists, observers, experts invited by the Organizing Committee.
c) the deposit of the copies of the production in the Central Archives of the Matera Sport Film Festival Organizing Committee, to be used exclusively for study, documentation and institutional purposes.
The producer must declares to acted in the respect of dispositions of the cine-television rights. The participants will be considered directly responsible for any request or claim for damages or refund coming after the presentation of the work at the Festival.
The Organizing Committee grants the right to use the participants’ names at the Festival, for its own promotional activity.
Art. 8 – GENERAL TERMS
The Organizing Committee will pay the 50% of the cost of the overnight stay in the Hotels operating in agreement with the Festival to the authors and the producers of the selected works.
