Martin Lisius is a Texas-based filmmaker and storm chaser. As a cinematographer, he has contributed to productions for BBC, National Geographic, NBCUniversal, Netflix and Warner Bros. His footage can be seen in TV commercials, television productions, and theatrical releases including, "Cinderella" (2015), "Lucy," "Son of God," and the Oscar-winning "An Inconvenient Truth." In 2018, he shot the first-ever 16K production using a 16K camera system he designed and built. As a storm chaser, he has worked on projects that help keep people safe from dangerous weather. Lisius is the chairman of the Texas Severe Storms Association (TESSA), a national non-profit dedicated to severe weather safety, and author of "The Ultimate Severe Weather Safety Guide." He has appeared on "Oprah," CNN, The Weather Channel, and CBS Evening News, collaborated on "Twisters" (2024), and worked as a technical advisor on "Twister" (1996). In 2000, Lisius worked with the Oxford English Dictionary to develop the first official definition for "storm chaser."
