Commercial for the Acura MDX created by filmmaker and storm chaser Martin Lisius. Filmed mostly in Texas during the spring and summer of 2023, this production required the crew to synchronize shooting dates with extreme weather. Blowing dust, hail, intense lightning, and tornadoes were a regular part of filming.

Martin Lisius is an award-winning filmmaker and founder of StormStock, a collection of premium weather and climate footage Lisius captures on film, 4K and 16K video for licensed use in TV and film productions. Lisius is responsible for photographing the first-ever violent class tornado on 35mm motion picture film (1998), the only 35mm footage of Hurricane Katrina making landfall (2005), and for creating the first production to be captured entirely on 16K video (Prairie Wind, 2018).
Clients include the Walt Disney Company, Industrial Light and Magic, Microsoft, General Motors, Netflix, Nissan, Nat Geo and advertising agencies worldwide.
In 1993, Lisius founded StormStock (www.stormstock.com), a unique collection of innovative weather footage. His material can be seen in hundreds of TV programs, documentaries, feature films and commercials including the Oscar-winning "An Inconvenient Truth", "The Avengers, "Into the Storm", "Lucy", "Tomorrowland", Disney's "Cinderella" and "The Current War."
Lisius produced, directed and wrote several award-winning television programs relating to severe weather including "The Chasers of Tornado Alley" which first aired on public television in 1996. The same year, he worked as a technical advisor for the Warner Bros. box office hit "Twister."
In 2000, Lisius founded Tempest Tours, Inc. (www.tempesttours.com), a successful adventure travel company that provides storm chasing vacations to guests from around the world.
In 2002, he worked with the Oxford English Dictionary to add “storm chaser” as an official term.
In 2014, Lisius wrote and published "The Ultimate Severe Weather Safety Guide" to help others better understand the hazards of dangerous weather
He chairs the Texas Severe Storms Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to improving severe weather safety for communities at risk.
