MOV’IN CANNES 2026: When Dance meets Cinema

An iconic city in the world of cinema, Cannes is also since 1985 a major place for dance, welcoming the world's leading dance companies and putting under the spotlights new generations of choreographers through the Cannes – Côte d'Azur Dance Festival.

It was in this vibrant artistic context that MOV'IN CANNES was born in 2023: an event dedicated to dance films, at the crossroads of cinema and choreographic creation.

The first editions brought together artists and audiences from around the world, establishing Cannes as a major venue for dialogue between moving bodies and moving images. Building on this success and international recognition, MOV'IN CANNES will become an unmissable annual event from 2025 onwards.

Beyond the screenings, MOV’IN CANNES fully embraces a festival spirit, offering a rich programme of professional encounters, including masterclasses, round-table discussions and opportunities for exchange between filmmakers, choreographers, dancers and industry professionals.

The international dance film competition, under the artistic direction of Didier Deschamps and Eric Oberdorff, will be held on Thursday November 26, 2026.

  • I had an incredible experience presenting work at Mov'in Cannes. I was so well taken care of as an artist- from communications months prior to being taken care of in person during the festival. They held space for the filmmakers to network as well as engage in talk backs with a well stacked panel including Helena Jonsdottir, Laura Murphy and Sylvain Bleau. I do feel that the overall lineup of films skewed to favor a certain quality of works whereas research and experimentation in the form were not as focused. That being said, I enjoyed the screening of works and appreciated the space they held for important conversations around the artform to be held! 5/5 would absolutely love to join again.
