The MIPAD Digital Film Market is open to film professionals and creatives of African Descent around the world (Screenwriters, producers, directors, sales agents, acquisition and development executives, film festival directors, distributors, corporate financiers, film commissioners or entertainment attorneys.
SCREEN WRITERS/FILMMAKERS/STORYTELLERS:
MIPAD DFM will accept both finished projects (production completed) and stories with completed scripts, that meet the following criteria:
• Projects that have been ready within the last one year
• Projects that have never been aired
• Projects that have never been sold
• Projects that are based on black excellence (not compulsory)
Projects in the following genres are welcome:
• Documentaries
• TV series
• Short films
• Long form content
• Animation
Film submission entails submitting a 1-page synopsis of your story, or a one to two-minute production trailer showing your most compelling scenes if the project is already in production.
Sellers are to pay a submission fee of $50.
Produced films should be submitted in mp3 or mp4 format.
N.B Consumer trailers are not acceptable in this context.
Participants under 18 years of age may not submit films or attend the film market.
All submissions will be screened and vetted by a panel of seasoned film professionals carefully chosen from various aspects of the industry. We will let you know if your film is shortlisted for the film market.
Note that project submission is the first stage of your registration for this event, once your film/story is accepted, your registration is completed with the issuance of a “Trader” market badge, to enable you to participate fully in the film market activities.
Final Submission Deadline for all projects is Thursday, June 30, 2021.
