MATE Music Video Awards is an international competition dedicated to celebrating the creative intersection of music, cinema, and contemporary visual language. Integrated into the official program of the MATE Festival – Music, Art, Technology, and Education, the award highlights music videos of all genres, with a focus on aesthetic innovation, narrative strength, diversity, and social impact.

The 2025 edition will take place from October 23 to 26 in Coimbra, Portugal, at the historic Convento São Francisco.

Selected music videos and documentaries will be screened in special sessions on October 25 and 26. The official awards ceremony will take place on October 23 at 19:00 PM, in the Old Chapel of the Convento São Francisco, with media coverage and the presence of professionals from the music and audiovisual industries.

All registrations include guaranteed access to the full program during the 4 days of the MATE Festival.

Rules & Terms

Music videos must have been produced between 2020 and 2025

Maximum duration recommended: 100 minutes

Open to artists, bands, directors, and producers from all countries

All languages are accepted (English subtitles recommended)

Participants must hold the copyright of the submitted material

Excerpts from selected works may be used for MATE MVA and MATE Festival promotion
