One of the oldest European film festivals, Martovski Festival (www.martovski.rs) features documentaries, short fiction films, short animated films, and experimental films/video art in both national (Serbian) and international competitions.

The Festival Board and Belgrade Youth Centre (DOB) notify producers and filmmakers that submissions will be accepted from January 22nd, 2026. till February 22nd, 2026. for both national and international competitions of the MARTOVSKI FESTIVAL – BELGRADE DOCUMENTARY AND SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 72nd edition.

The Festival will take place from April 21st to April 25th, 2026. at the Belgrade Youth Centre, and the producers and filmmakers will be notified of their work's acceptance by March 30th 2026 at the latest.

Jedan od najstarijih evropskih filmskih festivala, Martovski festival (www.martovski.rs) predstavlja dokumentarne, kratke igrane filmove, kratke animirane filmove i eksperimentalne filmove/video art u domaćem (srpskom) i međunarodnom takmičarskom programu.

Odbor Festivala i Dom omladine Beograda (DOB) obaveštavaju producente i filmske autore da će od 22. januara do 22. februara 2026. godine primati prijave za domaći i međunarodni takmičarski program 72. BEOGRADSKOG FESTIVALA DOKUMENTARNOG I KRATKOMETRAŽNOG FILMA – MARTOVSKOG FESTIVALA.

Festival će biti održan od 21. aprila do 25. aprila 2026. godine u Domu omladine Beograda a producenti i autori filmova biće obavešteni o rezultatu selekcije najkasnije do 30. marta 2026.

Rules & Terms

*All submitted films have to be produced within the last two years (2024 and later)

*All submitted films must have English subtitles and an online screener within the application on FilmFreeway, as well as all other required information filled in and attached to the application.

*All submitted films will be considered by the Selection Committee before entering the competition.

FOR INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES ONLY:
*All submitted films must be produced by a company not registered as a Serbian production company and with majority ownership of persons not citizens of the Republic of Serbia.

FOR NATIONAL (Serbian) CATEGORIES ONLY:
*All submitted films must be produced by a company registered as a Serbian production company and with majority ownership of persons who are citizens of the Republic of Serbia. Coproductions are allowed, but the film must be produced primarily by Serbian producers and production houses.

Pravila:

*Svi prijavljeni filmovi moraju biti realizovani tokom prethodne dve godine (2024. i kasnije)

*Svi prijavljeni filmovi moraju imati titlove na engleskom jeziku i onlajn skriner u okviru aplikacije na platformi FilmFreeway, kao i sve ostale potrebne informacije popunjene i priložene uz aplikaciju.

*Svi prijavljeni filmovi biće uzeti u razmatranje od strane selekcione komisije pre nego što budu uvršteni u takmičarski program.

SAMO ZA MEĐUNARODNU SELEKCIJU:

*Svi prijavljeni filmovi moraju biti snimljeni u okviru firme koja nije registrovana kao srpska producentska kuća i koja mora biti u većinskom vlasništvu lica koja nisu državljani Republike Srbije.

SAMO ZA DOMAĆU SELEKCIJU:

*Svi prijavljeni filmovi moraju biti snimljeni u okviru firme registrovane kao srpska producentska kuća i sa većinskim vlasništvom lica koja su državljani Republike Srbije. Koprodukcije su dozvoljene, ali film u većini moraju da produciraju srpski producenti i producentske kuće.

    I was so happy with my film A RAPARIGA PROJECTADA/THE PROJECTED GIRL being selected for Martovsky FF. As I couldn't attend the festival due to the hight flight costs between Portugal and Serbia, since day one I asked the festival to send me some pictures or videos from the screening. I tried by e-mail, facebook, instagram. Until today, I didn't get any reply and no single picture from the screening. Plus, the festival never confirmed if the screening test (image, sound) went well before they actually screened it to the audience. Overall, I don't know anything how the screening went during the festival days. Terrible communication.

    I have been following Martovski for few years already. It was always a wonderful experience. But the last, 71st edition was huge step forward. I hope that the festival will continue improving and that it will be able to invite more international guests in the future.
