LUNIA FILM
Lunia Film is a video production company, founded in 2017 by Luca Ciriello and recognized among the best companies of the "Cultura Crea" project of MiBACT.
It is based in Naples, where it deals with conception, production and post-production of: films, short films, documentaries, video clips, commercials and promotional video and photo campaigns.
Since 2020 Lunia Film is part of the National Confederation of Crafts. Currently the team is composed of about 10 professionals and works closely with the territory and people, focusing on creativity, spirit of sharing, human relations and professionalism.
The passion for cultures and storytelling is at the base of our mission. Thanks to a precise and professional working methodology, through human, linguistic and cultural contact and thanks to a high professional level instrumentation, we aim to understand at best all the needs of our clients regarding the realization of the requested works. Our passion and skills allow us to interact with the protagonists of the videos we make, working all over the world in 6 different languages: Italian, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Swahili.
LUCA CIRIELLO
Luca Ciriello (Naples, 1988) is an Italian documentary filmmaker, director, and
film producer, a member of the EFA (European Film Academy), and a fellow for ethnographic-visual research at the University of Milan-Bicocca.
He graduated in Modern Philology and completed a Master's degree in
Cinema at the "Pigrecoemme" Film School in Naples, and studied documentary filmmaking at the Atelier di Cinema del Reale "FilmAp" with teachers: Bruno Oliviero, Alessandro Rossetto, Carlotta Cristiani, Antonella Di Nocera, Leonardo Di Costanzo. In 2018, thanks to winning the "Cultura Crea" call from the MiBACT, he founded the film company "Lunia Film Srl." He has worked as a reporter and documentary filmmaker in Europe, Tanzania, Indonesia, Colombia, Senegal, Sri Lanka, and India.
In 2018, he won a Special Mention at the Lucania Film Festival and the Festival dell'Isola di Roma, "Mamma Roma," with his first documentary, "Racconti dal Palavesuvio,"
(produced by Arci Movie and Parallelo 41 Produzioni).
In 2019, he produced the historical short film "Eroi Perduti," directed by Lorenzo Giroffi (winner of Best Film at the Digital Media Fest in Rome).
In 2020, he participated in the Giornate degli Autori (part of the 77th Venice Film Festival) with the documentary "Quaranta Cavalli," produced by Lunia Film and ZaLab (winner
of the Laguna Sud Award). The documentary was presented and awarded at approximately 80 Italian and international festivals. International.
That same year, with his documentary "L'armée rouge" (produced by Parallelo 41 and Lunia Film), he participated in the Festival dei Popoli (Florence) and the Fescaaal (Milan), winning several awards (Best Director at the Tulipani di Seta Nera Festival, Rome, and Best Documentary at the Mario Puzo Corto and Capo Film Festivals, Avellino).
He won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Laceno D'oro (Avellino) with the film "Ponticelli Terra Buona" (produced by Apulia Film Commission, Fondazione con il Sud, and Parallelo 41).
In 2023, his documentary film "API" was released, produced by Lunia Film and L'Eubage, Filmmaker Fest (Milan), Corto Dorico (Ancora), Next Generation Shorts Festival (Bari), Trento Film Festival (Trento), AstraDoc Fest (Naples), Mario Puzo Film Festival (Best Documentary), Fernando Di Leo Film Festival (Special Mention), Jaffna International Film Festival (Sri Lanka), Doker Fest (Russia), In the Palace (Bulgaria), Plons Film Festival (Netherlands).
In 2024, he directed "Oltre Ischia," a documentary born from a participatory workshop
with two schools on the island of Ischia (Audience Award at the Laceno d'Oro Festival). In 2025, he co-directed, with artist Teresa Antignani, "Martyrion, storia di Isabelle" (a documentary exposing illegal construction in Malta and the struggle of a mother who lost her son). His next film, "Wasantha," is in production (Dugong, Samarcanda, L'Eubage), and is shooting in Sri Lanka. He speaks Italian, Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and Swahili. He is learning German and Sinhalese.
