LadyBugFestivalShortFilmMarathon 2021 is 29 & 30 October at the Culture Night in Gothenburg Sweden. Do you have short maximum 10 minutes "long" in any genre
you are very welcome, to submit it.
LadyBug Festival is an inspiring non profit festival with focus worldwide & cross culture, music, arts, books, stand up comedy and all genres of short films.
Our perspective is environmental issues, equality and human rights and every year we also have a special theme related to the festival.
LadyBug Festival loves to work for diversity and has been a meeting point for a wide audience and filmmakers since 2009 and we welcome both professionals and non established filmmakers to participate.
The theme of 2021 is about "TIME"
When we mention the word TIME, we all probably get many different thoughts about this.
What do you think of when you hear the word TIME?
Past, Present, Future.
What did we do, what do we do, what will we do?
Sometimes time feels slow and sometimes it disappears too fast.
Different for everyone, but we still have one thing in common. We live together in time. In time and out of time.
We are slaves in time and at the same time free. Stressful - Soothing. Wasted - Valuable.
Everything is connected. Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years.
What do we do with time? Your time, My time, Our time. Whose time is it? Nothing? Everyone?
In dreams and realities.
Time is an elementary dimension in life from which we can describe events in then, now, later.
A sequence. Like in a movie. Many different movies.
Fruits from then, are harvested today, are sown for tomorrow and everything is braided together. In time.
Generation after generation, we continue to float into the future. In slow motion.
And yet time flies away so fast.
Even though time is constant and the only constant is change.
Different cultures see time in different ways. Wu wei.
What exactly defines our time, and what happens when it is paused?
Like when a dangerous virus invades and separates us,
natural disasters strike, wars strike or when our loved ones leave us.
We re-evaluate, re-prioritize. To live now - not later.
As in moments of happiness, seconds of joy, sequences of love and in time of hope.
Our time is now.

The theme TIME is large, broad and can be interpreted in many different ways.
TIME also raises several philosophical thoughts about our existence on different levels.
We are therefore happy to thank you for the variety of stories you will submit to this year's festival
