LA Indie Horror Fest

This festival rocks! Thank you so much for selecting our film, 'Nun Better Exorcism', and for welcoming one of our actors to the screening and awards. We'll definitely submit again in the future.

This was such a fun and inspiring film festival. It was great to be a part of it, and the organizers did such a great job. Kudos to all!

I had such a fantastic time at this event and am truly honored to have won Best Screenplay. The team did an amazing job hosting — from the warm welcome to the thoughtful Q&A after they read a scene from my script. The hosts and the audience, made up of passionate filmmakers and horror lovers, were absolutely wonderful to talk to.

It was a genuinely inspiring experience. In a time when mainstream horror sometimes loses its edge, this festival’s commitment to discovering and celebrating inventive indie voices is something special. I’m grateful to have been part of it and can’t wait to see the incredible work this community continues to champion.

My name is Sophie Mutiara Nova, the Writer-Director (and novelist!) who created LGBT+ Y2K Horror-Comedy DETENTION OF THE DAMNED -- because we all yearn for an epic pop punk soundtrack when demon possessions call! (Right? Shoutout to emma-rose bauman and MUCO for my soundtrack)

Truly the loveliest and most heartwarming horror community festival I've been to yet! Yves and Frank are superstar festival organizers! Yves informed me the laurels (those cool eyeball graphics!) were personally drawn and designed. And the iconic severed hand trophies were crafted from wood and paint! Not to mention the stellar certificates sealed in scarlet wax with a bone press!

Everyone was so talented and lovely. Other filmmakers were so sweet and supportive and made it feel like Halloween all over again! We were given water and taken care of in really well-researched QNAs that made us each feel like we were truly seen!

I will prize my gold-painted severed hand trophy and my bloody wax sealed certificate forever. I truly feel like a horror guest of honor after attending such an amazingly gothic, ghostly, and theatrical film festival event! And bravo and thanks to the celestial international jury for being such a wonderful filmmaking community— and so honored to have witnessed and experienced the future of horror filmmaking here

Had the most wonderful time at this festival, the hosts and crew went above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home. The film selection was superb and it was cool to connect with other like minded people. Will definitely attend next year. I’m very great full to have been a part of it
