Mission: Gathering creators and lovers of screendance in one place to celebrate dance film and inspire each other.

Los Angeles Dance Film Festival is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Formerly known as LA Dance Shorts Film Festival.

Rules & Terms

• Films must be under 15 minutes including credits.

• Films must have been created in the last three years.

• Filmmakers must own the copyrights or have permission/clearance to all content including the music used in the film.

• If the film is selected, the Film Festival has permission to use all images and film content for promoting the festival.

• Once selected as an official selection, a film may not pull out of the festival or withdraw its submission.

    I was very honored that my film, GOLDEN, was included in the 2020 festival. As we all know, 2020 was a terrible year for film festivals because of the Covid-19 pandemic, so live festivals were almost impossible, which is why I haven't commented on hospitality and networking. But the LA Dance Shorts team worked hard to figure out some solutions and the online event went smoothly.
    I also loved being able to share a filmmakers' Q&A zoom call with other artists and the festival organizers, which made the festival more personal. Although I missed the opportunity to meet other artists and people in the community in person, on the other hand, the films were undoubtedly seen by more viewers. Thank you, LA!
