Small, but first-class film fest run by quality film lovers who showcase daring, topical films. Sonja and Nicholas are filmmakers themselves so all their small touches (well run Q&A, gift bag) really make you feel special. They also know how to curate a diverse line up of movies that live up to the film festival's title. I would definitely would come back to LADFF to show my next film.

I could not attend myself, but a team member went and loved the whole atmosphere, the venue, the people, and quality of films! So I was honored to learn that "Heads or Tails" won Best Short Film!
Email communication with the festival was great, they were extremely quick to respond, always friendly, and very helpful, even with last minute requests. I hope this festival keeps growing.

This is a well-run and thoughtful film festival focusing on a wide range of voices of diversity. I had an enthusiastic audience and a great Q & A with LA writer David Radcliff. Though it is a smaller venue, I have had someone from Showtime and Seed & Spark talk to me about possible distribution of my film. Thanks to festival director Sonja Mereu and Program director Nicholas Ybarra for the great communication and support!

The is a great festival to be a part of! Everyone is genuinely passionate about diversity in filmmaking and storytelling. Although it's in the middle of Hollywood, the great vibe you get is more about the joy and the art of filmmaking rather than the glitz and glamour of it. All the films showcased were thought provoking, entertaining and well crafted. They were very encouraging to all the younger filmmakers in attendance as well. We enjoyed this festival very much!
