KINOSKOP - 7TH INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF ANALOG EXPERIMENTAL CINEMA

# STRICTLY ACADEMIA - SPECIAL EDITION#
TBA

### OUR NEW EDITION IS DECIDATED TO ANALOG STUDENT (AND TEACHER) CINEMA ONLY! ###

Kinoskop, Belgrade’s indie/niche festival dedicated to analog cinema, announces its ad hoc 7th edition, different in scope and style from the previous editions, which reflects and ponders on the current situation of film festivals and cultural events in Serbia and the absence of our 2025 edition.

Dedicated exclusively to student cinema, it is inspired by the defiant spirit of student resistance against authoritarianism, corruption, and the fight for democracy in Serbia, following the largest-scale anti-government protests seen in Serbia, and the performative and innovative nature of its Gen-Z led quest for systemic change.

This year, we seek provocative, genre-defying, and subversive works that mirror the rebellious energy of student protests—films that challenge, disrupt, and reimagine cinema as a tool of dissent, that seeks to break boundaries and unravel poetic dissonances in front of the face of opression. We call for films that celebrate free-spiritedness, solidarity and DIY ethos, seek out uncomfortable truths to challenge the status quo and/or stay true to their personal (non)agendas.

We accept short experimental, animated, fiction, documentary and found footage films in two categories:

1) NEGATIVEBURN

Recently made student films or graduation films (these films must be made between 2021 and 2026)

2) FUTURE PAST

Films of established or veteran analog filmmakers, now working as professors of cinema
These films can also be made from 2021 to 2026.

For older student / graduation films of professors of cinema, please send us an e-mail to kinoskopfest@gmail.com! )

There are no submission fees for this year's festival!

More about the festival :

Kinoskop is a indie / niche festival, based in Belgrade, dedicated to exploratory tendencies and experimental ways of working with celluloid in a digital era, and a showcase of imaginative works of cinema which trigger strong audio-visual stimuli and puzzling afterthoughts, rooted in the spirit of experimental, surrealist and underground cinema.

We are looking for fiction, animation, experimental, found footage, documentary, personal, DIY and punk cinema, esoteric and obscure, outlandish and daring works, particularly supporting films coming from independent film labs from Europe and the rest of the world.
