online edition

The call for entries is open

Kinoskop is a indie niche festival, based in Belgrade, dedicated to the exploratory tendencies and experimental ways of working with celluloid in a digital era, and a showcase of imaginative works of cinema which trigger strong audio-visual stimuli and puzzling afterthoughts, rooted in the spirit of underground, surrealist snd experimental cinema.

In its second edition, due to the Covid-19 crisis, we have decided to make three days of our program available online via Vimeo stream, and to introduce festival to a broader global audience. Several of our programs will be curated by veteran experimental film aficionados Nikola Gocic (film writer and critic and visual artist) and Marko Milicevic (film author and founder of the audiovisual initiative Kino Pleme), while some of them will also be presented by our guest curators. This year’s program will consist of recorded q&a zoom sessions with filmmakers whose films have been selected, moderated by curator of each program, a online chat and possibility to vote for the audience award.

Films will be awarded in the categories : Grand Prix, Best Soundtrack and Audience Award. Members of the jury will be announced on our page and website.
Deadline for submissions is November 4th.

    Response from festival:

Many thanks for your contribution, Dmitri! We are looking forward to seeing your next cinematic provocation.

  • An incredibly well designed and organized event. Kinoskop sets the gold standard in film-only experimental cinema festivals. Turns out Belgrade is home to a passionate, forward-thinking and visionary underground scene, spearheaded by Kinoskop’s articulate, friendly and talented organizers and jury members who are all filmmakers, writers, musicians, and artists themselves. This is a true celebration of poetic, personal cinema, and the belief that ‘celluloid’ is to motion pictures what vinyl is to sound.
