J Taylor-Jones is a non-binary filmmaker based in the UK. Having developed an interest in experimental and alternative film during their fine art studies, they landed their first job as a camera operator and researcher with a documentary production company. Their work is largely influenced by their experiences as a documentarian, and inspired by the social realist and avant-garde movements, combining two distinct styles to highlight the euphoria and dysphoria in the lives of those existing on the fringes of society, particularly Queer life, communicated by abstracting a pre-established reality.
With the production of Dead Body, Taylor-Jones founded Burning Closets Films, a production company dedicated to bringing Queer life to the screen.
