I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend the SMVFF (South Korean International Film Festival) and I must say, it was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The organizers of the festival went above and beyond to ensure that the directors invited felt welcomed and appreciated, creating a truly memorable event.

First and foremost, I have to commend the curator, Mimi Mg. Park, for her exceptional job in selecting only the most relevant and thought-provoking movies for the festival. Each film showcased a unique perspective and added immense value to the festival's concept. It was evident that Mimi put a great deal of effort into curating a diverse and captivating lineup, ensuring that attendees were treated to a wide range of cinematic experiences.

The reception given to the directors was truly outstanding. The organizers left no stone unturned in making sure that every detail was taken care of. From arranging comfortable accommodations to providing excellent technical support, the directors were able to focus solely on their films and engage with the audience without any worries. The warmth and hospitality extended by the SMVFF team made us feel like a part of their family, and that sense of belonging truly enhanced the overall experience.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the SMVFF was the opportunity it provided for cultural exchange. Meeting and interacting with filmmakers from different parts of the world was an enriching experience. The festival served as a platform for sharing ideas, discussing filmmaking techniques, and fostering connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds. It was truly inspiring to witness the power of cinema in bringing people together and bridging cultural gaps.

I wholeheartedly encourage filmmakers from all over the world to submit their movies to the SMVFF festival next year. It is not only a chance to showcase your work to a global audience but also an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in a vibrant and welcoming film community. The SMVFF team's dedication and passion for cinema are evident in every aspect of the festival, and I am confident that future editions will continue to exceed expectations.

In conclusion, the SMVFF in South Korea is a shining example of a well-organized and artistically curated film festival. The efforts made by the organizers, particularly curator Mimi, to create a memorable experience for directors and attendees alike are truly commendable. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this festival and I eagerly look forward to future editions.

I like fair festivals. It is one of the rare festivals that paid copy right fee of my documentary called UNTOLD STORY OF FATMA KAYACİ. Most of the festivals screen the documentary and they even do not send a thank you latter. Thank you to all sincere people of the festival🧡
