It is possible to take part in the competition by registering your work in one of the following sections:
a. FEATURE FILM COMPETITION – This competitive section aims to promote a showcase of feature films of Italian and international production. Feature films of any genre are admitted with a minimum duration of 60 minutes and a maximum of 105 minutes including credits.
b. SHORT AND MEDIUM-LENGTH FILM COMPETITION – Works of Italian and international production are admitted. Short and medium-length films with a maximum duration of 55 minutes including credits belonging to the following categories can take part in the competition:
- FICTION – the category includes works of any genre: drama, comedy, action, fantasy, horror, adventure, etc. as long as they belong to fiction cinema.
- ANIMATION – the category includes works of any theme and animation technique produced.
- DOCUMENTARY – the category includes works of any theme and technique, as long as they belong to documentary cinema.
- TOURISM PROMOTIONAL MOVIES – the category is reserved for works that promote tourism in its many aspects including: tourist promotion of the country, region or city, sports and adventure tourism, nautical tourism, food and wine tourism, religious tourism, promotion of cultural activities, events and fairs.
c. VERTICAL MOVIE COMPETITION – Free-themed works of Italian and international production are admitted, with a maximum duration of 10 minutes including credits, with the shooting mode whose framing must have one of the following vertical resolutions in 9/16.
d. AI (Artificial Intelligence) SHORT COMPETITION – The works admitted to the competition must be created in part with the aid of Artificial Intelligence software with a maximum duration of 55 minutes including credits. All characters represented must be played 50% by real actors and 50% by AI. They must be accompanied by the following documentation:
A duly completed registration form;
A sheet that accurately describes how and which contents, software and/or AI online platforms were used to create them.
Works already submitted at previous call for entries of festival are not admitted.
e. VIDEO POETRY "ITFF MEDITERRANEAN VISIONS" - The competition involves the creation of video poems on any theme about the countries and nations bordering the Mediterranean Sea. It is officially open to all creatives, filmmakers, and poets who wish to try their hand at this art form. There are no age limits (minors require a parent's signature) or nationality restrictions. Entries can be submitted by submitting a maximum of two unpublished "video poems" in any spoken language. The reading/declamation of the poem may be accompanied by images, videos, or possibly with background music, which creatively enhance the poetic text.
Subtitles in English for every work are mandatory.
