Roberto "Joe" Scappaticcio nasce il 1° agosto 1977 a San Vito al Tagliamento, in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Appassionato di viaggi, storie umane e tessuti, unisce negli anni la sensibilità del documentarista all’urgenza di raccontare mondi lontani attraverso una lente poetica e sociale.

È l’ideatore di VesteMMundi, un progetto culturale e artistico che mette al centro la moda etica come strumento di narrazione, unendo maestranze locali, tessuti tradizionali e comunità di territori spesso marginalizzati. Ogni abito nasce da un incontro: Roberto viaggia in luoghi remoti – dall’Himalaya all’Amazzonia, dalla Réunion al Medio Oriente – per collaborare con artigiani, raccogliere storie, trasformarle in opere che non si vendono, ma si mostrano. Gli abiti diventano così strumenti di racconto, indossati dalle comunità stesse e filmati per documentare il processo umano e culturale che li ha generati.

Nel 2025 firma la regia del film Parivara – The Last Families, un’opera intensa e delicata che indaga la trasformazione delle strutture familiari tradizionali e il senso profondo dell’appartenenza. Il film, come il progetto che lo ha ispirato, si nutre di storie vere, volti, silenzi e saperi tramandati, con un linguaggio visivo essenziale e potente.

Roberto Scappaticcio è anche il responsabile dell’associazione culturale legata a VesteMMundi. Con i suoi lavori promuove una visione del mondo che dà valore alla lentezza, alla memoria, alla dignità dei gesti e alla sacralità delle relazioni umane. A passionate traveler, storyteller, and textile enthusiast, over the years he has blended the sensitivity of a documentarian with the urgency to portray distant worlds through a poetic and socially engaged lens.

He is the creator of VesteMMundi, a cultural and artistic project that places ethical fashion at the center as a tool for storytelling—bringing together local artisans, traditional fabrics, and communities from often marginalized territories. Each garment is born from an encounter: Roberto travels to remote places—from the Himalayas to the Amazon, from Réunion to the Middle East—to collaborate with artisans, gather stories, and transform them into pieces that are not for sale, but for display. These garments become narrative instruments, worn by the communities themselves and captured on film to document the human and cultural process behind their creation.

In 2025, he directed Parivara – The Last Families, a powerful and delicate film that explores the transformation of traditional family structures and the deeper meaning of belonging. The film, like the project that inspired it, is nourished by real stories, faces, silences, and ancestral knowledge, told through a visual language that is both essential and powerful.
