International Ecoperformance Film Festival

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

The 4th edition of the International Ecoperformance Film Festival will take place from May 30th to June 16th, 2024, online and in person, in 5 countries (six cities).

The program of selected films will be shown at

1) Cine Satyros Bijou – São Paulo, Brazil - May 30 > June 02

and with reduced program formats entirely based on curatorial criteria will be shown at

Queensland University of Technology – Brisbane, Australia – May 30 to 31
Brown Arts Institute – Providence, USA – June 4 to 6
Montfleuri sur Mer – Pinamar, Argentina – June 7 to 9
Espacio Tole Tole Teatro – Buenos Aires – June 14 to 16
National Center for Dance Bucharest – Bucharest – June 11 to 14
Teatro La Luna – Córdoba, Argentina – June 28 and 30

In addition to the in-person screenings, the entire program will be streamed from May 30th to June 30th, 2024, free of charge, on the festival's YouTube channel:

IMPORTANT:
The submission category ‘Brown Arts Ecoperformance - IGNITE Selection’ is open exclusively to films created by Rhode Island and Massachusetts-based artists. The films selected for this category will be publicly screened between June 4-6, 2024, at The Granoff Center for the Creative Arts Martinos Auditorium at Brown University and streamed online on the International Ecoperformance Film Festival’s YouTube channel starting on June 7, 2024. The exhibition of these works in further festival venues is not obligatory and will depend on curatorial criteria. The films submitted to this category will not be considered for the ‘Best Ecoperformance Award’ and the 'Environmental Dance Prize'.

REMUNERATION:

The Internacional Ecoperformance Film is an independent production without sponsors. Therefore, it does not provide remuneration either for the participating artists, the awarded works, and honorable mentions, or for transportation, food, and accommodation costs of artists who wish to attend the screenings.
If entrance fees at popular prices are charged in cinemas and in-person exhibition spaces, the amounts collected will benefit the partner spaces and not the festival organizers and artists.

REGISTRATION & PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:

The festival will receive registrations from December 15, 2023, to March 15, 2024.

To register and participate in the festival, you must:

1) Conformity with the concept of 'ecoperformance' and the festival’s values;

2) Registration of films made between 2022 and 2024, with a minimum duration of 3 minutes and a maximum duration of 25 minutes;

3) Correct completion of the registration form;

4) Making the film available via YouTube link, Vimeo, or Drive (Google Drive, Dropbox, and Onedrive);

5) Agreement with the Terms of assignment of exhibition rights mentioned - available here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/149zh3OvndDNKRHi72NHQzKtXFBQvYV10/view?usp=sharing

6) Agreement with the film screening in the indicated places and dates;

7) Agreement with the inclusion of the film's image and information on the festival website and, eventually, on the cinema and exhibition space websites;

8) Agreement with the festival's execution schedule and respective deadlines for sending materials/information, when requested.

9) Compliance with YouTube (online broadcast venue) copyright policy;

FESTIVAL EXECUTION SCHEDULE:

Registration: December 15, 2023 to March 15, 2024

Work selection period: until April 15, 2024. The curatorial team will select up to 50 films (depending on the duration) and the result of the curatorial process will be emailed to registrants on April 18, 2024.
From the date of communication of the results, the selected artists will have 10 days to send materials/information for exhibition and dissemination, that is, until April 28, 2024.

They are:

1) Download file of the film in high resolution for download (MP4 or MOV format);
2) SRT file with English subtitles, if the film contains texts or speeches;
3) Updated synopsis with up to 600 characters;
4) Updated technical data sheet with up to 600 characters;
5) Updated mini-bio of the group or artist with up to 590 characters;
6) Term of authorization for exhibition and broadcast of signed audiovisual work - available here:

7) Three promotional images for the film (files identified with "film title, year, photo credit");
8) Materials must be sent to the email ecoperformance.art@gmail.com. Failure to send the materials within the established deadline will disqualify the film.

The selection period for works awarded by the international Jury is April 15 to May 15, 2024. The selection result will be communicated during the festival program.

The non-arrival of these materials within the established deadline disqualifies the film.

ATTENTION:

1) The Internacional Ecoperformance Film Festival platforms the exhibition of films (conceived as ecoperformance and dealing with the intertwinement of environment, body, memory, and ancestry), not of registers of performances or other non-related subjects.

2) It is permitted to submit more than one film as long as it is in separate entries - one film per entry.

3) The festival is not responsible for incorrect links, links without a password, or films removed before the curation deadline.

4) Please, maintain the film in the indicated location until June 2, 2024.

5) Prepare to send basic information about the film such as synopsis, recording location, technical crew, cast, and mini CV.

6) Please, pay attention to organizer emails sent during the production period.

7) Participating artists need to verify in advance their right to use songs in the soundtrack.

8) In case of exhibition restrictions due to copyright infringements on YouTube, the film may be removed from the program so as not to harm other participants.
