Inês Costa (Viseu, 1998) holds a Master in Image Design (2022) and a degree in Communication Design (2020) from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. Designer and audiovisual artist, her research work focuses mainly on the role of image in the construction of narratives that make up the Portuguese collective memory, through the intersection of design and its artistic practices, problematizing the image as a tool for language and socio-political action. She was the winner of the Acquisition Prize of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto with her final graduation project Toque (2020), of the certificate of merit for the best final classification in the Master in Image Design (2023) and of the prize for Best Film of Local Production in the Vista Curta festival, with the short film Amélia (2021). Her animation and video work was part of the official selection of festivals like Curtas Vila do Conde, Vista Curta, Entre Olhares and Porto/Post/Doc in 2021. She has an article published in Alix - Jornal de Estudos em Fotografia e Cinema (2021) and was awarded a grant by ID+ and FCT in the context of the master in Image Design, with the project "Memories of Pau-Preto e Marfim", presented at the International Conference of Counter-Image 2022, in Lisbon. She is part of the team of trainers of the 2023 edition of the project Crianças Prime1rº in the context of the Educational Service of CINANIMA, with the support of the Direção Geral de Educação - Plano Nacional de Cinema. She is a guest artist in the GAGE - Game Art Gender Equality project supported by ITI/LARSyS. She is one of the selected artists for the artistic research residency project MANIFEST, co-created by the European Commission, under the Creative Europe Program.
