The name is Ibrahim Hamid Koroma but commonly known as Director Wizik.
I am a 21st Century Film Director, Writer, Cinematographer and a Film Editor from Freetown, Sierra Leone(West Africa, Africa). I started my Filmmaking Journey back in 2016; few months after completing my High School. Choosing Filmmaking as a Career has to be one of the Craziest decisions i’d ever made, taking into consideration the fact that not so many people excel in any of the filmmaking careers in my country and my learning process was crazy too; Being a Self Taught in a time like this, one will only rely on the internet(YouTube* to be specific), i spent hours and hours of sleepless night just so that i can learn all the necessary basics required in making a film.
The Goal was to become a Music Video Director at first but i later realised that making films goes a long a way and also reaches, influences a larger audience from all around the Globe. My directorial Debut came in 2018 and the whole movie thing was new to me and i had to collaborates with some friends who were into Filmmaking as well. *Run - A Short Film my very first film; i figured out Directing this all alone by myself was going to be difficult and challenging for me but thanks to Director Spartar and the rest of the team for the amazing team work in helping bringing my Vision to Life.
Fast Forward to 2022, i’ve already Directed a couple of Short Films and also my very first Feature Film (Taxi). Making Movies is the only thing i find pleasure in doing on Earth and when am not making movies, i most times try to literally kill myself for not doing what i love to do. My Life as a Filmmaker, i feel like being that person who tells story about an events, people, places or personal experiences; Your ultimate goal as a filmmaker is make sure you tell that story in such a way that your target audience feels like they are also part of that story and if you fail to tell these stories as a Filmmaker, then i must say you’re just a blind person with two perfect working eyes.
