The I See You Film Awards

Eligibility

The I See You Film Awards screenplay competition is open to writers from around the world.

Submitted screenplays must be the original work of the entrant, and the entrant must hold the rights to the material.

If the screenplay is based on previously published material (such as a book or article), the writer must have secured the necessary rights or permissions.

Co-written scripts are eligible; however, only one submission form and fee is required per screenplay.

Categories

The competition currently accepts submissions in the following categories:
• Feature Screenplay
• Short Screenplay
• Television Pilot
• Student Screenplay
• First-Time Screenwriter

Additional categories may be added in future editions of the festival.

Screenplay Length
Feature Screenplays: 70–120 pages
Short Screenplays: Up to 40 pages
Television Pilots: Up to 75 pages
Student Screenplays: Must meet the length requirements of their respective category.

Scripts must be formatted in standard industry screenplay format.

Submission Guidelines

Screenplays must be submitted electronically through FilmFreeway in PDF format.
The title page should include the title of the screenplay and the writer’s name. Contact information is optional.

Multiple submissions are allowed; however, each screenplay must be submitted separately with its own entry fee.

Student Category Eligibility

Submissions to the Student Screenplay categories must be created by a writer who is currently enrolled in a high school, college, university, or accredited film or writing program at the time of submission.

Entrants submitting in a student category must provide proof of current student status, which may include:

• A valid student ID
• A current class schedule
• An enrollment verification letter
• A transcript or other official documentation showing active enrollment

Proof of student status must be uploaded with the submission or provided upon request. The festival reserves the right to move submissions to a non-student category if eligibility requirements are not met.

Category Reassignment

The festival reserves the right to move submissions to a more appropriate category if the entry does not meet the eligibility requirements of the category selected.

Deadlines and Fees

Submission deadlines and entry fees are listed on the FilmFreeway festival page.
All submission fees are non-refundable.

Judging

All submissions will be reviewed by the festival’s panel of readers and judges.
Judging decisions are based on several criteria, including:

• Story originality
• Character development
• Structure and pacing
• Dialogue
• Overall storytelling impact

The decisions of the judges are final.

Awards
Winning scripts will receive official festival laurels and digital certificates.
Selected winners may also receive additional recognition through festival promotion, announcements, and features on the festival’s website or social media.
Prizes and awards may vary by category and year.

Notification
All entrants will be notified of the results via FilmFreeway on the official notification date listed on the festival page.

Rights
The I See You Film Awards does not claim any ownership or rights to submitted screenplays.

Writers retain full copyright and ownership of their work.

By submitting, entrants grant the festival permission to use the title, writer’s name, and excerpts of the screenplay for promotional purposes related to the festival.

Disqualification
Submissions may be disqualified if they:
• Contain plagiarized material
• Are incomplete or unreadable
• Do not meet category requirements
• Violate copyright laws

By submitting to the I See You Film Awards, entrants acknowledge that they have read and agree to these rules and terms.
