Galil Human & Nature international documentary film Festival deals with a wide scope of human-nature relations. From environmental films to adventure films. From traveling and journey documentaries to stories of the healing power of nature. Beside screenings, the festival includes tours and workshops, educational activities, master classes, art exhibitions, and special events. Located at Hula Lake Park - one of the world's most important bird's migration ruts, and in the most diverse region for outdoors sports in Israel, the festival wishes to bring to a vast audience the values of sustainable way of life, and to illuminate the vital importance of nature to physical and psychological well being of humans. The festival is a platform for filmmakers, to explore human-nature interface, and a cultural arena to discuss and raise awareness to the challenges that humanity is facing regarding climate change, water and garbage crisis, and the extinction of wildlife. We believe that in order to face these challenges there is an urgent need for collaboration between groups and nations.The festival is a 4 days event, and our next edition will take place on 5-8 of June 2024.

1. admission requirements
The festival will only receive documentaries that meet all the following criteria:
A. The film is no shorter than 5 minutes and no longer than 90 minutes.
B. The film was released after January 2022. In special cases, films created before Jan 2022 can be submitted, if they have never been screened at any festival, theatre, television or digital media.
C. The film will be submitted solely by the distribution rights holder, and to the extent that it does not infringe any copyright and/or other rights of any third party and does not infringe any law, including any infringement of any third party's good name and/or privacy and/or another wrong.

2. Filing procedure
Files should be submitted to - adventurefilmisrael@gmail.com accompanied by all the following documents:
A. Signed online application form.
B. Film viewing link (recommended to use the Vimeo site). The password can be protected but must be valid until 30.06.2024.
C. Logline up to 20 wards, short synopsis (up to 50 word) and director's resume (up to 50 word).
D. 3 high resolution still images.
E. The film must include English subtitles.

3. The film examination procedure
A. The films submitted will be considered by the festival's artistic advising committee.
B. selection will be done no later than 60 days before the festival opening date.
C. The Galil Film Festival will not bear any financial expense involved in the process of sending or editing the submitted film.
D. The Galil Film Festival may screen any film selected by the festival, during all festival days, at any hour and in any number of screenings on its sole discretion.
E. If the submitted film is accepted, the film must be transmitted in accordance with the technical requirements made by the festival, in 2 weeks since the announcement is received.
F. If the film is selected, the Galil Film Festival reserves the right to edit the Synopsis proposal.
G. Film selected by the festival will not be screened in the Galilee region on public screening, including theatres, cultural institutions, educational events, and private events without a written permission from the festival directing team.

4. Invitation
A. An invitation to participate as the festival guest will be given to filmmakers at the festival's sole. discretion
B. Filmmakers are encouraged to visit the festival at their own expense. In such a case the festival will provide a personal badge that gives entry to all festival's screenings and events and will help with accommodation.

5. Work schedule
A. Deadline for film submission - 18/02/2024
B. Notification date - 31/3/2024
C. Deadline for transmitting films according to technical requirements - 14/4/2024.
D. Festival opening ceremony - 5/6/2024.
E. The Galil Film Festival may postpone the event in accordance with governmental security instructions.

6. General
A. For the purposes of these By-Laws, the management of the Galil Film Festival may delegate its powers, in whole or in part, to any person and / or committee at its discretion, in accordance with the By-Laws.
B. The management of the Galil Film Festival may cancel any choice of film and / or refrain from screening it at any time at its discretion, and, inter alia, if there is a concern that the conditions of submission or acceptance will not be met.
C. The management of the Galil Film Festival may change this policy at any time, and any such change will require any person and / or body that has applied and / or been accepted for the festival.
D. Once a film has been selected to be screened at the festival, any person and / or body submitting the film to the festival may not revoke and / or withdraw it from any consent granted.
E. The management of the Galil Film Festival may decide to hold additional competitions and / or frameworks from time to time and determine the rules regarding them.
F. A film presenter undertakes to indemnify the director of the Galil Film Festival, and all of its employees and / or on its behalf for any damage and / or loss, including legal expenses incurred as a result of a filing and / or pledge of the applicant in connection with the film, including any claim and / or claim to be followed.
