I found this festival suspicious. I have not received my award certificates or email responses from the festival when I inquired about receiving the certificates due me. I could not attend their ceremony. I asked to receive hard copies and never got a response. The ceremony was Dec. 10. It's been almost two months. I spent $235 in entry fees for four categories. I was told I was an Award Winner in two categories. Filmmakers beware. Our good and precious money might not be worth this one. Unless you plan to attend the banquet. I found the festival impersonal, with no name or phone number to contact. No responses. I guess if you go to the banquet you will meet the gang there, otherwise, you might be person nongrata.

    Response from festival:

    Hello Stephanie,
Hard copies certificates are given first to attending filmmakers, we do provide certificate pick up from our office and also mail them to filmmakers who request them in the timely manner. We shipped you your certificates and we know you have received them, cause you wrote us after you received the mail few weeks ago.

Please be advice that just by submitting to multiple categories doesn't mean you can win all of those categories. Some film wins all categories, some wins few like yours and some win non.
Thank you for choosing HIIDA, we are thrilled to call you a HIIDA winner.
