Harrogate Film Festival aims to captivate the residents and filmmakers of Harrogate and surrounding areas by offering innovative events and opportunities which aim to engage and develop audiences with new cinema experiences, film education, interactive events and competitions.

Rules & Terms

Films will be viewed by the Festival Judging Panel (FJP) and a shortlist of films to be screened during the Festival will be produced.

All entrants will receive confirmation of the FJP decision which will be final. The FJP does not guarantee to provide any feedback aside from the decision itself, however additional comments may be offered if the Committee deems that it may be helpful.

Films selected for viewing at the Festival will be judged by the Festivals selected judges.

The judges will watch the films in all ten categories making awards for the best film in each category. There are then also awards for 'Critics Choice', 'Audience Choice' and 'Best Film'.

    Communication, hospitality, enthusiasm; all was there at the Harrogate Film Festival and I could NOT recommend it enough! Location and activities made every single day worth attending and I would go back in a heartbeat.

    Very proud to have been selected for Harrogate Film Festival. Adam communicates very well throughout the process and the event was very well organised and at a great venue. The other films shown were very high quality and Harrogate is a beautiful and welcoming town.
