The 18th annual Hola Mexico Film Festival will take place this September 2026.
The festival looks at commercial and independent, documentaries, dramas and everything in between. The program results in a hand picked selection of the best stories that are coming out of Mexico. Founded by Samuel Douek with the mission to bring the best in Mexican cinema to Los Angeles, CA to the audience and industry alike.
The festival has screened the premieres of films such as: EL INFIERNO (HELL), ACORAZADO (THE RAFT), GLORIA, LA DICTADURA PERFECTA, LA VIDA INMORAL DE LA PAREJA IDEAL, REVOLUCION, ABEL and many others. And some of the invitees include: Martha Higaredam, Carlos Carrera, Damian Alcazar, Joaquin Cosio, Eugenio Derbez, Kate Del Castillo, Amat Escalante, Fernando Eimbcke.
Mexican cinema has grown exponentially since 2006, with more than 200 FILMs produced each year and many FILMs winning awards at the most recognized FILM festivals around the world.
The festival strives to connect the audience to Mexico, through culture, entertainment, creating the most authentic experience. The festival is for all audiences, and every event is open to the general public. Tickets are on sale at our venues’ box offices and online. Every FILM has English subtitles.
In 2020, the festival had to take place online, with our partners at Pantaya. In 2021, we came back strong for an in person festival. This past 2025 the festival broke all records in attendance and PR. We're looking forward to an even stronger festival this 2026.
The Festival is grateful to its generous sponsors, without whom none of this would be possible.
