GLBFA aims to provide opportunities for emerging filmmakers. With limited resources, we support low budget films that create new experiences and tell unique stories. We are interested in understanding how filmmakers around the world work, how young filmmakers overcome production obstacles, and how their efforts can lead to a new form of cinema. Our goal is to play a small role in the emergence of the new generation in the world of independent filmmaking by helping young filmmakers, actors, cinematographers, editors, and producers be heard.

Every work is judged by a group of professionals from the world film industry.

Our goal is to find creative ideas and projects with a different perspective that have something to say. This award, which focuses on finding and showcasing the best of the best, features films in the most varied genres and fixed lengths of short films. Independent cinema is a means of expressing art, and this space is for those who believe in it. This platform allows you to demonstrate your talent to the world and showcase your production. Creativity and ideas have the power to change the world. This is where the word "BEST" originates. There is more to it than just showcasing large budgets and a priority on big productions. The heart that beats within each film is what counts here.

Awards & Prizes

All projects officially selected each monthly will receive the GLBFA official laurel, and are promoted through our social media pages and website.

All the films are given the same attention and care and each monthly we announce the official selections, the finalists, and the winners. The winners can be recognized in three different sections: “GOLDEN LION BEST AWARDS,” the main award, in addition to the “Jury Awards” and “Honorable Mentions” - awards for productions that deserve to be recognized and were very close to the greatest achievement. Every monthly, if the jury reaches a consensus that there was a film that stood out in an extraordinary way among all those entered, the film gets a special award: the “BEST OF THE MONTHLY FILM AWARDS.” All the jury’s decisions are final. We do not disclose the votes and jury scores.

All the monthly winners receive the GLBFA digital laurel, a digital certificate and have the option to purchase one of our unique prestigious trophy.

Rules & Terms


The films must include English subtitles (unless the spoken language is English).
The scripts must be written in English.
By submitting the film or script, the submitter agrees that:
1.GLBFA can use synopsis/trailer/teaser/film poster/stills or BTS and script excerpt for promotional purpose (but do not release, under any form or circumstances, the full film or script)
2.The submitter owns all the rights to the film or script.
3.Submission cannot be withdrawn after the announcement of the official selection.
4.GLBFA Has right to change the date and place of the annual event.
5. Regardless of content, subject, or origin. Submitting your film to the GLBFA is not a guarantee of selection.

All films must have been made after January 1, 2010 and have English subtitles (except for music videos and unless English is the main language spoken).
Short Film Language – All language accept.

We also accept maximum length of under 15 minutes which depend on content.
The filmmaker/institution is responsible for the content of his/her work and for any possible copyright problems. The participant owns all rights concerning the usage of his/her work according to the regulations. The Festival Committee has no responsibility to third parties. The Festival Committee has the right to reject films, if the content or technical quality does not correspond to the Festival conditions.
A filmmaker can submit their films and screenplay online through an online film festival partner’s.
Regarding selection Jury decision will be Final .
