The FFFF is a student film festival which aims to highlight the work of creative and passionate students across the globe. This year's edition is the second opened to a public audience so do not hesitate to submit your films to us.

ONE FILM PER DIRECTOR

→ The screening session will be on Saturday 27th of April 2024 on Leicester University campus in the Attenborough Basement University Film Theatre:
University of Leicester, University Rd, Leicester LE1 7RH

The screening event will showcase the shortlisted films for each award category (3-5 nominees for each), and will be followed by an awards ceremony. We will also showcase information about each film and director in a showroom area just outside the screening room.

People's Choice - voted for by public during the event

A few members of our team will review all submissions and shortlist 3-5 nominees for each category. This short list will then be reviewed by the rest of the event team, and potentially some Film Studies faculty and students at the University Of Leicester to decide on a winner for each.

We will also have a People's Choice Award. This can be voted for during the day of screening and votes will be counted for 3rd place, runner up and winner. This will then be announced after each category winner has been awarded.

Rules & Terms

Films must:
. Respect the correct length: 3 minutes (min) → 20 minutes (max) including credits.
. Have been made by University students over the age 18.
. Be sent by its director only and through the FilmFreeway website

→ Entrants can submit any genre/narrative forms

Festival is opened to UK and International university students. Films that are not in the English language must be sent with subtitles.

We also welcome submissions from students who have graduated within the last two years, as long as the film was finished within the time the filmmaker was registered as a student.

We need students to tell us where and when they studied.

By submitting your film you confirm that you are the director of it and you accept to take legal responsibilities toward it. It is expected that filmmakers still hold all of the respective rights required for their film before submitting. This includes all music, sound effects, product placement, actor/model release forms, etc. We have the right to choose whether or not a submission is suitable for display based on its quality, content, or copyright.

We may use a short clip of your film in our festival trailer.
By submitting you are allowing us to also screen your film at the festival.
There is no guarantee that your submission will be screened.
First Frame Film Festival reserve the right to use for up to two years after the festival an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.
