The Film and Folklore Festival is an event festival in Trinidad & Tobago. The festival invites persons to experience a unique and interactive experience in folklore storytelling mixed with music, spoken word and film.

The Film and Folklore Festival is interested in collaborating and showcasing culture and folklore from around the world.

Films must have an element of folklore/folk tale ,fairy tale, tradition, culture or belief (superstition/ritual) from any given society.

Films can also showcase how you experience your society based on a lifestyle that is unique to your society (music, cuisine, location, experiences).

7. Best Overall Film

a) All film submissions will be reviewed by a minimum of three [3] members of our selection committee, made up of filmmakers and industry professionals. High-scoring films will be moved to a final jury round, which will determine the official selections.

b) Foreign language films must contain English subtitles for consideration.

c) There is no premiere status requirement.

d) All films must have a completion date after January 1, 2022 to be considered for the festival.

e) If selected, the Film and Folklore Festival has the authority to use stills, posters, titles, or any information from the submission materials for promotional purposes.

f) If selected, you will be guaranteed at least one screening of your film, however the Film and Folklore Festival has no obligation to provide a screening fee.

g) By submitting your film, you declare you have full authority to submit your film to the Film & Folklore Festival, and you have cleared all rights to use the music in the entered work.

h) The Film and Folklore Festival is held harmless of any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, or screening of any film.

i) Showtime and venue scheduling is at the discretion of the Film and Folklore Festival and is subject to change without notice.

j) Scheduling of feature films may be dependent on filmmaker attendance for Q&A and special event purposes.

k) All filmmakers will be notified of acceptance status no later than February 07th, 2025
